I know the Quo police would arrest me and lock away the key but I really liked what they did with Kim and Roy.
It’s a guilty pleasure !

Bloomin Miserable lot, I didn't know Scrooge was a Quo fan. Ba Humbug !! He's certainly old enough I think they did play It's Christmas Time one year as part of the encore. It's a hazy memory though. Probably blanked it Yeah, we can be pretty miserable, us Quo fans. As soon as they hit the 'entertainment' button we scuttle off back down our hobbit holes to that dark place they call the 70's This answers your question.
Merry Christmas.

Back from some cold northerly city with lots of interesting architecture to see and the Christmas market (or in this case a winter market) still going - and I can't help but notice that nobody seems to have been around and updated this thread. So to go with the weather outside and because I love the song:

Frozen Hero and Someone's Learning; you could hardly get two more diverse tracks. 40 years apart and both brilliant. Not many acts could achieve that. You got to love this band

Totally agree, mortified . And what's your song of the day today? I didn't want to step on any toes so I left it to those who'd already done it. But as you asked so politely.... My favourite ever version of this song. The TOTP Special in 2000 rivals it but it's interrupted here and there by chat. So this one wins. If any of us tried to bounce like that now we'd need a double hip replacement Francis's solo towards the end still gives me goosebumps. How he can say the band were rubbish that day is beyond me. They were magnificent.

Watching the EOTR video always gives me goosebumps and a feeling of having lost something very special somewhere along the way. Not sure about the double hip replacement yet, though. Don't know if you can see it, too, but the video recommends listening to "Aquostic" towards the end of the clip. Class! I didn't notice that. Never miss an opportunity, eh?

I absolutely love this. A few years old now but it works superbly. I think they call it a mash. I call it genius

If we are going off on a tangent can we have this one? I love it.

I think Francis re-recorded the guitar part and there was a connection between Purple Haze and Bob Young. Can't remember what it was though. Nice choice

He see it differently to us. He sees it from the inside, from the musicians point of view, and he knows what the band are capable of and where he ranks each performance compared to that. We'll never understand!

Nice choice I seem to remember connection was Bob Youngs son was / is the roadie for Groove Armada.
I seem to remember the guy from GA saying that everyone thought the guitar part was Jimmy Hendrix and they were most surprised when they found out it was Quo.

Love the way Rick played the intro here (and the rest, of course): Always liked this track. Good choice. And you're right; a terrific opening with Rick's guitar sounding superb. There's the making of another song in that opening! A hugely underrated album overshadowed by a dismally awful movie. Even Mrs Mortified has never listened to it. She doesn't know what she's missing

Agree. Good album, duff film.
I've only ever heard one person speaking positively of the BQ film.
Enjoyed the clip. Another reminder of how great Rick was on stage (not that we needed any reminding).

Softer Ride is an all time fave of mine. Ever since the Paper Plane single. I adore it. I remember they played it live for the first time maybe about 20 years ago (or thereabouts). I never knew it was coming and I nearly did!

A bit predictable perhaps. Perhaps some might say Quo by numbers but I like this one. I don't mind Not Fade Away but I thought that this one should have been on the album instead.
At the time, it was refreshing to hear the guitars taking prominence again. Love how they chug along.

As I've been listening to the Dave Edmunds version today on his greatest hits I thought I'd put this up.
Quo's version is a bit too polished for my liking, but its still a good track.

Here's a bit of a rarity I think. I love this song but I don't think I've ever heard it live apart from actually being there back in the day. The sound isn't great but the footage looks sort of "official" because it's shot from numerous angles. Anyway, enjoy
