Even then he must have been struggling, because those vocals are 100% overdubbed! When he sings the line "Oh And Time Is Always Passing By", he pulls away from the mic but can still be heard clearly... rookie mistake right there. I'm pretty sure his vocals for Twenty Wild Horses are overdubbed also. The delay on the vocals gives away the poor mixing done to try and blend the overdubs. I remember at the time it was mentioned that Francis was completely unhappy with his overall performance and in doubt whether he should release it at all. So the overdubs were done (obviously quite a few) and that made him change his mind. Still he never was happy how everything went, obviously. There are other performances from the solo tours on yt without any overdubbing ..

So the overdubs were done (obviously quite a few) and that made him change his mind. Still he never was happy how everything went, obviously. There are other performances from the solo tours on yt without any overdubbing .. Didn't know he was unhappy with it, and I've never really noticed it before as I've never properly watched / listened to it. At the time Francis was interviewed by some guy, who was rather enthusiastic about the album. One thing he said was how wonderful it was in his opinion that Francis had left the mistakes in. Francis didn't quite know how to react, but was spared a direct answer, when the interviewer continued how he loved the scene where Francis tried to adjust the capo and it just wouldn't work and how he overplayed that and kept talking. So Francis could talk about that moment and how he had decided to leave that in and never had to mention anything else (like TT e.g.).

Seriously, thanks for your part in pulling this together - I’m really looking forward to this No worries! Disc 3 comes in at around 70 minutes in length now with the new tracks. Rossi's chats have been added before Price Of Love, Let's Work Together and Mystery Medley which was a suggestion of mine as I hate it when they get edited or removed entirely. I'm glad I mentioned to them to get Paper Plane, Price Of Love, Rain and Anniversary Waltz licensed from Universal for the release now, as I wasn't having those being left off of the release. The Price Of Love followed Mystery Medley and Rain during the set in Sheffield, but tbh, for this release it can stay following Paper Plane, as it's best off ending the Sheffield set with Rain. It's also great to hear the difference in the mixes from venue to venue, which you didn't really get on the VHS release of the Doc as the audio will have been mastered differently for that as opposed to the full length gig mixes. Take Care, QI

Enjoyed listening to those clips, took me back to when I was a teenager and watching the VHS of that event religiously. I also taped the music from the tv so I could listen to them on cassette. Be good to have them on CD in full when the deluxe edition comes out, and of course not have the Tarrant voice overs.
Of course it would be nice if they re-issued the DVD, but for now I’ll be happy to have the stuff on CD.

I will look into getting them to do a dvd / cd including the full gigs and the original doc maybe, as dvds arent entirely off the table.

Maybe the best plan of attack would be to have it released in 2021 - they could then market it around it being the 30th anniversary of one of the craziest events in British music. Plus, maybe some interviews with Francis, Andy and Rhino on their thoughts looking back...or perhaps an audio commentary. Where has the time gone since 1991? Frightening!!!

And like Cammy says, would be great if they'd make something special of it.

There must be a new clarity in this because I've never noticed before just how good the bass is in Rock And Roll Music. I think Santa should just stay in bed until these deluxe editions are ready. Have a lie-in, mate. Take yer time

Now I'm just waiting for the news that I can drop the tracklistings for all 3 Deluxes

All of the additional songs with the singles - and presumably this time they'll include And I Do and Democracy - maintained the standard of the album. If you get my meaning Although I didn't mind And I Do if I'm honest. But don't tell anyone But I don't know; I just like collecting this stuff. All these nice, little Quo packages. Ta for the updates

Ta for the updates Thirsty Work is a bit stale in comparison to the other 2's deluxe variations. It could have been better, but things didn't go that way. There isn't anything hidden away from the Thirsty Work sessions. They released all that they had recorded, which was far too much - in my opinion. Went for Quantity over Quality with that album.

The set list wasn't bad that tour. Quite a few from the album went in as I recall. It's a long time ago but I wonder if these songs maybe were given a bit of a kick in a live setting. Less polished sort of thing. I'll be honest, I can't remember that level of detail! To be fair, we have to take the rough with the smooth. Not much could've been done to save Thirsty Work from being the mundane MOR album it was. But it's part of the history, love it or loath it. It'll still go on the shelf

It could have been better, but things didn't go that way.And I'll have to hold my hands up as the main culprit for that, since I realized way too late that a full live set on a 3rd disc would've made it more attractive. When I compiled the draft, I thought 2 discs were enough and I also didn't expect 3 discs to be feasible for all albums.
