He’s due on tomorrow (Tuesday) apparently to discuss the tour and the bands future. Not sure of the specific time.
If he says ‘insecure show off’ I’ll probably throw a brick at the screen!

The bands future ?! On every thread? You’re becoming as boring and predictable as the set list.

This sums it up
"Richie has brought a new lease of life to the band and we are looking forward to playing the same set list to an ever decreasing group of fans I’m an insecure show off me and I really like country music not this macho heavy metal stuff "

I'd be surprised if we learn anything new from this interview tomorrow.
I'll record it and watch it when I get home but I'm not expecting anything earth shattering.

Most of the interview was about Rick and I think Francis answered everything in a totally honest way. And just as you thought "here's a whole interview without the words..." and damn doesn't he just go and do it in the last 30 seconds...lol

Yes I taped it. Just watched it. Piers Morgan admitted he was a massive Quo Fan. Interview was fairly standard but Pierce tried to get deep. France s was honest and conducted himself how I would expect him to. His relationship with Rick away from the crowds was private and I think he is keeping it that way. Good on him ! Obviously every one will have their own opinion but no he didn’t wail on the floor for those who think he owes them that. A fan is just a fan. This sort of thing is very private !

Nobody thinks that, but to show some respect, (and I cannot call a half arsed 2 song tribute, ruined beyond belief as showing respect) for Rossi & Friends band to honour him in a suitable way acknowledging Ricks role & importance in the band, isn't too much to ask is it ?! well obviously to Porter & Rossi it is, given their BS/U turns and half arsed tribute,a tribute concert which never happened, even the funeral itself, with the bass man looking pissed outta his head and looking like he had just fell out of the nearest boozer,, that's showing respect to you current fans is it ?!!

You don't half talk some b*ll*cks some times. The video today showed very much how Rossi feels about Rick's passing. Just because he doesn't do what you want to him to do or be how you want him to be doesn't mean he doesn't care. I have never cried at a funeral, even my father's - does that make me a bad, uncaring person? No it doesn't. As for Rhino looking pissed - he looks pretty much the same no matter what and even if he was, a funeral is a celebration of life these days so if Rhino did that with a few drinks then so be it. And plenty of people think Rossi should be wailing on the floor because as I said they think they know how he should conduct himself.

Defence, denial and detraction...mmm now let's see. Correct I defended Francis. Denial- I'm not denying anything. Detraction - nothing like that going on.
When I see Quo in Reading this month, if Rossi went on and on about Rick I'd probably be thinking "I'm here for a gig not a bloody eulogy".

I saw the FF reunion 4 times, I have (and will in the future) watch John Coghlan's Quo, and I will buy Rick's solo album when it comes out. I would still support the band if Francis had died and Rick had carried it on (I actually think I heard Rick say that in an interview once that he would try and carry on). I also know exactly (unlike your friends who went to see FR solo) what to expect when I go to see Quo later this month; it won't be the best Quo gig I've ever been to, but I won't be disappointed.
It isn't about 'sticking together', it's about having our 'own' views (because they're all different) and being able to air them. Unfortunately for you, on this message board there are more people who have a similar way of thinking that is different to yours, than think the way you do. If you went back over to another message board you would probably find yourself in likeminded company. So please stop categorising everyone as 'Rossi fans' just because they don't agree with you. You categorise yourself as a Parfitt fan, I categorise myself as a Status Quo fan (and before you start about the current band, I include previous and deceased members of the band in that statement).

Gees the old "I know you are a Rossi fan" line. Never get tired of that one when someone has very little in the way of a half decent response Unlike you I actually enjoy being a Status Quo fan. I don't feel the need to wallow in depression because Rick died. I was saddened and shocked by it, however life goes on. Seeing Quo at the o2 last year was an extremely pleasant surprise as I really dreaded how they would be without Rick. My mate is a massive FF era fan and he thought it was a great gig to the point of saying he missed Rick but the gig was brilliant. Am I easily pleased? Maybe but who cares? If I'm happy I am happy!! Am I being ripped off? Not that I can see. I pay for what I want and if I don't want it I don't buy it. Protect the pension fund? Another stupid thing that some throw at the band. Every band out there wants to be famous and earn money. Funny thing is they have no control over this do they? If people don't buy the records or attend gigs then the pension fund isn't protected is it? It's pretty poor to accuse any band of wanting to keep earning money. If they didn't then they wouldn't last long. Standing by for usual W.O.M.O.R.R response - just one thing you should change the W to an M for Miserable.

Or certainly why those of us who regularly visit Quo message boards (or FB) should feel conned?
I'm going to Manchester in a few weeks. I know it has changed from acoustic to electric; if I wasn't happy with that I would have asked for (and probably got) a refund. I know Rick died and Ritchie has replaced him. I know that Leon is on drums, not one of the previous 4 drummers. I know that Alan isn't in the band these days but Rhino is. I know they have keyboards. I know the setlist is pretty static and won't be much different from last winter. I know they won't do a full version of 45 Hundred Times. I know that Rhino, Andy and Ritchie will sing instead of Rick. etc etc etc
So for those of us in the know.....what is a con? What will happen that I don't already know about?

Well I thought interview was revealing...reading his body language it was damned obvious he is missing his best friend. Maybe they had good days and bad days as he said but don't all siblings have that? Although not birth siblings they were just as close.Brought a tear to my eye when he said he watched as they tried to revive Rick and had to uncross his feet but didn't know why ...that's love and being at a loss of how to cope. Piers not my fave bloke but spot on with saying Quo strike up and everyone is happy and leaves a show smiling. Go on Francis...rock it for Rick

I loved the insights, such as uncrossing Rick's feet, and I had to laugh when he said he was at Rick's bedside and they had their little conversation about Rick playing a G7. I thought he looked a bit lost, though that may just be because they so rarely gave solo interviews back in the day.

Just watched the interview and I thought it was genuinely a good one and agree with many of the points already raised above.
Think Francis still feels it hard to talk about Turkey and the hotel room and I too thought it was touching that he uncrossed Rick's feet. I'm guessing that he just wanted to help but felt helpless and he just wanted to try to do something to assist and that's the only thing that he could think of. You wouldn't do that unless you really did care for someone.
He says that he hasn't shed a tear but we all handle grief differently and I wouldn't rush to condemn or criticise for that.
Only bit that I didn't particularly care for was when he mentioned about being insec................

You haven't heard Rhino vocally murder Ricks songs ?! You haven't heard the half arsed attempts at a guitar solo from Rossi ?! You haven't heard a band that overall sounds awful in the main, with many trib bands now sounding better than Francis & Friends band ?! Even after all the BS/U turns/disrespect etc etc you are still happy to pay their wages ?! I could add more, I am sure you will enjoy the gig, I do hope so, with the rest of the GH/once a year fanbase, & I am sure yer night will be made complete when you get a pointed finger from Rhino, a wink from Rossi etc etc ,, ENJOY!!!
