Just bought tickets the other day for Simple Minds at the Hydro Glasgow next year. Home gig so should be a good atmosphere. It’s as Saturday so a good excuse to turn it into a long weekend there. Tickets for seating were a bit steep starting at £50 though I thought as it’s standing on the floor. Peter Gabriel is supporting on some of the European Tour but not sure about UK leg. Hope it’s good support for that Price ! I’m going to see them at resorts world (NEC). Seen them about 20 times or so over the years, great band.

Are you sure that's not the other way around? IF PG is touring, and his website does not list any dates, he would surely be headlining, and for more than £50. Maybe you know something the rest of us don't. And if you do, please share the secret - I wouldn't mind seeing Peter Gabriel!

Jim Kerr and Peter Gabriel are good friends, maybe they’ll sing Biko again. Simple Minds generally do have very good support.

I'm looking at Manfred Mann's Earth Band (it's Manfred's birthday today, by the way) and Saga. Eric Clapton too but god he's expensive!

Al Stewart, Islington.I wasn't as disinterested as I feared, but I'm still not a fan. He was OK, his backing band was also the support band. For the final song of the set, The Year of the Cat, original drummer Stuart Elliott came on. Huge gulf in class between him and the band's drummer. Didn't Francis Rossi do a gig at the Union Chapel recently with Hannah Rickard? No, Quo did a rehearsal gig there in 2016 for the Aquostic set at Hyde Park the following day. Aquostic II had just been (or was about to be; can't quite recall) released. Me, Mrs Mortified and sis actually went down to London for it. The chapel gig that is, not Hyde Park. As far as I'm aware, Francis hasn't played any solo gigs with Hannah other than those back in 2010 promoting One Step At A Time.

He's probably as big a draw as Simple Minds and I'd love to see him live. Mind you, if Quo can support Lynyrd Skynyrd in the UK, anything's possible

Tonight I'll probably be watching several would be singers of varying ages giving renditions of old folk classics and telling jokes.

Big Country at the end of November, which I’d forgotten about. Followed by Airborne the following evening.

Off out tonight to see the Counterfeit Stones on their "Midnight Scambler" tour @ Hertford Theatre. Brilliant! I think that was the fifth or sixth time I'd seen them, and I thought Nick Dagger was on top form! We even got a rendition of Happy by Keef Rickards. They're coming back to St. Albans in June - I've saved the date.

A broad, eh, church is the world of the Quo fan indeed Exactly and that’s the way it should be 🙂 I’ve seen Cadillac 3 at a spit n sawdust place in Southampton and very good they r too. Both bands are on the rocky end of country, so that gets me off the hook I think 😁😁
