My stepdaughter is off to see Clutch in December as well. I presume it's in Bristol, which is where she lives. I haven't checked though. I've actually got more gigs than I usually have. My regular gigging days are behind me. Mainly through a mixture of lethargy and apathy But this winter we're going to see Magnum in Edinburgh, Rhino's Revenge in Troon and Gary Numan in Newcastle. Really looking forward to that last one. Not sure why I agreed to go see Magnum. They've never been my thing really. But as they say at my age, "it's a night out...." I keep getting e-mails from the Alabama 3 website but they're not playing anywhere close enough to me. But I remain hopeful.

Just ELO for me on the 5th October in Manchester. Will be my first time in the arena since the bombing which I suspect will therefore be a strange experience in itself.
There's not much else out there that grabs my interest really. I've never seen Elton and I believe he's embarking on a massive farewell tour so I fancy going to that whenever it comes around.

Saw Magnum when Quo did the Reading festival (88 I think), and thought they were excellent. Would love to see Gary Numan as his last 3 albums have been pretty amazing.

I've actually seen Magnum about three times; always as a support act but not since the early 80's. The first time was supporting Whitesnake WAY back in 1979 and the last time was as warm up act for Krokus I think. I haven't seen Mr Numan since 1983! Looks like my gigging days have been behind me for longer than I thought. Probably when I still had a perm

Magnum are fantastic live, I've seen them dozens of times over the years and in Tony Clarkin you have one the best, most consistent and original rock songwriters, Bob for me is in my top five rock vocalists and the new guys all do a great job too, though I do miss that classic keyboard sound from Stanbo. I too shall be off to see them twice in Germany and possibly one of the British gigs too.

I like her - she's jeans and t-shirt, not low necklines and high hemlines. She described the audience as quiet children, which she said was good. Clearly she doesn't know much about children - when they're quiet, it means they're up to something. Dr. Feelgood - I don't care if none of the original members are in the band. They came, they saw, they blew everyone away! Counterfeit Stones next up.

I must look their tour up. I didn't realise they were still on the go. Haven't seen them in about 15 years but I really liked them back in the day.

The series of chamber music concerts, which we usually attend during the winter season is about to start. The first one would actually have already taken place, but had to be moved to Feb.'19 due to a musician's illness. I always look forward to these, as they tend to be very varied, interesting and of high quality. The Color Of Iris will play in Mannheim in November and I intend to go see them. Then I'm hoping for more additional Joan Baez concerts later in February including one not too far from here, so I get a chance to see her. Otherwise no plans so far till Quo tour again next year.

U2 in Manchester last night.
WOW What a gig....I’ve seen them a number of times before but this stage show is something else.
I know they ain’t everyone’s cup of tea on here but without doubt the best gig I’ve ever attended by any band.
Only downside still in Manchester as train back to Birmingham isn’t until 18:05.
Oh well a few drinks it is then....

Color Of Iris have played a number of gigs over the last months, but none too close, so I still haven't seen this line-up. And they've recorded an EP in summer including two new songs, but that hasn't been mixed (?) yet, so I guess it'll take until the end of November till that'll be available.

Just booked two tickets to see the Eagles again in Manchester next year.
I noticed Knopfler has announced a tour. Tempted but will wait until nearer the time, try and get a feel for the setlist. If it's all solo material I won't bother, if there's a good helping of Dire Straits material then I'll be up for it.
