It suddenly struck me today when streaming a Quo track on the Amazon Echo at home that I have a few “go to” Quo tracks when I play random music at home
If it’s post 80’s it’ll be
Ok Rag Blues And It’s Better Now acoustic Little White Lies With Gravy Train or Bad news as close follow up
Or pre 80’s
Paper Plane In My Chair Wild Side Of Life Lonely night
Anybody else have go to tracks that’s they play regularly?

It's funny because Lonely Night has become one of my go to songs as well. I just love the whole laid back groove of the thing. More so now than I did in 1974! I also always turn to Breaking Away and Coming And Going. And Mrs Mortified has made me appreciate Accident Prone more. It's a favourite of hers and we watch the video of it quite a lot. For more modern stuff, there's no doubt Two Way Traffic gets a regular airing and also The Madness. Or, as it's known in this house, Kylie v The Beachboys

I tend to go to these tracks for some reason
I'm watching over you ( I like to sift through the b-sides and rarities) Can't give you more (RAOTW album) What to do. Face the music.

I’m funny with 2 Way Traffic as I do love it but I don’t play it very often unless I put the whole album on, I think it’s something to do with the fact I played it so much when it came out.

I love Face the Music and I play that reasonably often at home, I’m not really a big fan of Can’t Give You More as it always comes across as a bit of Quo by numbers for me. Do you prefer the RAOTW version to the RTYD version then?

Just joining in, I've always preferred the original version of Can't Give You More.
In fact, I can't think of any track that has been improved by re-recording it and never really saw the point. Aquostic apart that is. I suppose Running All Over The World took the track up a notch but it was never best first time round. Despite it's success and legacy!

Both a bit left field but then Mr Bown was involved, so I tend to expect the unexpected Both have grown on me considerably. But it's taken almost 30 years

But it's taken almost 30 years I do find myself scrolling through the B sides and rarities quite often. SKTM always gets an airing, I don't know what pulls me towards it, I know I usually find myself singing the chorus for the rest of the day

Analyse Time is a good one, not too bothered about She Knew Too Much tho. And I actually very much prefer Rhinos live version of Lucinda, off his charge album.

For post 86 I go for Army Go Go Go Liberty Lane Warning Shot Pre 86 Accident Prone (one of my all time faves) Oh Baby Who Asked You Down, Down I stupidly forgot Liberty Lane as that’s a real fave for me and I listen to it regularly. If we are on Backbone tracks then there’s Better Take Care and Waiting For A Woman which I play semi regularly. I do love Warning Shot but hardly ever play it. Note to self 🤔

The revisiting of B-sides is something I might do at some point. The vast majority, especially during the Thirsty Work period, I never gave much attention once I'd played them once or twice. They just weren't for me. Other B-sides have grown on me a great deal over the years ( Joanne, You Lost The Love, Gone Thru The Slips) so maybe an Aladdin's Cave awaits. I'm nothing if not optimistic

Just given Lean Machine a spin, thoughts? I liked Lean Machine at the time. Still do. Most of the B-sides back then were OK. This one drives along nicely. In fact, if I'm honest, the B-sides tended to be better than most of what ended up on the albums, especially Ain't Complaining. A Parfitt/Rossi composition which became an increasing rarity and wasn't that common even back then.
