He's currently broadcasting his "Fish On Friday" Q&A on Facebook, I've stumbled across it and am currently catching up. Worth a listen if you like him.
He is an artist I tend to dip in and out of, but I think I may buy his new and last album when it comes out in September.
Track from his new album below:

That's great that. I got his last album. Best track on it by a mile is called Man With A Stick. I think I even put the video up here but it seems a while back. I was never a Marillion fan but I don't mind Fish as a solo artist. Saw him supporting Quo at Knockhill Racing Circuit in, ooh, 2000 and something. He went down a storm, although I suppose he was relatively local.

Yeh I liked it too,
It may seem a strange thing to say but I like him for the character he is, very engaging. Check out the Fish on Friday as he does include bits from his new album which sound good, although some of them are a bit long.
He is touring at the end of the year and he is playing Southampton, I just hope it isn't cancelled . I have seen him live a few times and he's great.
Interesting you say about him going down well, on the face of it they don't seem a perfect match. I remember a MK review from 84 when Marillion were playing on the bill and the reviewer saying how well they went down considering Quos short to the point Rock n Roll and Marillions overlong songs and solos.
Its all rock I suppose.

I remember dozing through Marillion at Milton Keynes. Well, it was a nice, sunny day I'd seen them headlining about a year before because my girlfriend at the time was a big fan. I didn't dislike them all that much. I just used to find the guitar weaving through the songs even while Fish was singing quite irritating. And they did that a lot. OK, picky I know But Fish went down well because he's pretty well known and popular up here. He is an engaging character. An intelligent and articulate man. And ridiculously tall! But I agree; some of his songs are extremely long. I don't often have the concentration span these days - or sometimes the time - to listen to them. Not if I also want to hear something else as well But, yeah, I hope the gig remains on. Everything is up in the air at the minute but we're still hoping to get away in September to Italy. Fat chance probably

Love the four albums he did with Marillion, currently enjoying the boxset of the debut, Script for a Jester’s tear, which is not long released. Has a really good documentary on the bluray and an early gig from the Marquee in ’82.
I’ve got a few Fish solo albums, but have only really liked the odd song here and there. The latest single he released is very good though, I’m hoping this continues over to the album and it is a good send off for him. I’ll check out the Q&A, sounds interesting.

I heard this track too on Spotify and I too will probably buy the album. I like quite a bit of his solo stuff but I also liked all his albums with Marillion.

Having heard this a few times I’m really liking this, his voice sounds good on it. I’ve also been re visiting one or two albums by him, current fave is Feast of Consequences, it very varied but worth a listen.

I just used to find the guitar weaving through the songs even while Fish was singing quite irritating. And they did that a lot. OK, picky I know I think at some point the band was annoyed that Fish kept on singing in the instrumental breaks! But of course, what's he to do? He doesn't play an instrument! To me, the heart of Marillion is Steve Rothery. I've really not checked out Fish's stuff much, and I can see why... he's a class lyricist, but he has to rely on musicians to write the music for him, so it's always going to be difficult for me, being that I like the band after his departure just fine. I do hope he can finally get his album out, it's been a ridiculous history of postponed dates and issues slowing the process down...

If you go on Fish’s website he has released a lot of his remastered album and I am tempted to start buying some that I haven’t got (for a start) anyway.
Will have to go easy as I may spend a bit too much 😁

Been interested but although I see why he sells them only through his own shop, I'm always a bit wary about small online shops (payments and other issues).

No need to worry it’s very safe, I’ve purchased from there a few times and have had no problems. I’ve just bought my 1st remaster of Field Of Crows and it’s a great album, very nicely packed. I’ve only heard the main album so far and it’s a good listen .

In his latest episode (yesterday) Fish talked about Rick after he called him out of the blue to give him some advice to stop smoking. There’s also another story what recently happened with Fish... m.facebook.com/derek.dick/

It's getting rave reviews. I do think he's somewhat shooting himself in the foot by not allowing anyone to sell it except for his own online shop. I think it would get far more exposure if you could pick it up at a regular store.

I think it would get far more exposure if you could pick it up at a regular store. I think he’s doing what he’s had to do keep himself above water as he’s had loads of problems in the past with majors. In his Fish on Friday broadcast recently he states that’s he’s sold around 15000 copies so far, which isn’t bad considering it’s a cottage industry. He’s also stated that he’s selling more remasters off the back of his weekly broadcasts, I’ve bought 3 of them along with the new album. Quo should learn from his remasters, they are packaged with 3 discs with loads of illustrations and backstory relating to the albums and what was going on with him.

An excellent article and sheds a light on the problems UK artists are facing if they want to tour Europe. And if Europe wants to have them. I also read an article yesterday that suggested that not only Scotland would be seeking to become independent but that Wales might do likewise and Ireland may seek to unite again. That could put all 3 back into Europe again as independent nations. Probably not in my lifetime (or Fish's) but I suspect it's coming. Hundreds of years of history changing overnight. Back to SQ1 you might say All speculation really but the Brexit vote has split the UK more than anything I can ever remember and may end up breaking it into 4. Imagine that?

Maybe not so coincidentally, Fish is, I think, a strong supporter of Scottish independence...

Maybe not so coincidentally, Fish is, I think, a strong supporter of Scottish independence... I believe so. The polls are indicating that it's about 53/47 in favour of independence at the moment but it's been a close run thing for a couple of decades now. I've never been convinced that many of those who wish to remain part of the UK are believers in the United Kingdom as such. I just think fear plays it's part; and rightly so. It would be a huge gamble. I totally support the idea of an independent Scotland but, personally, I don't think just passing 50% in a referendum is enough for such a momentous change. There has to be a higher benchmark. Say, 75%. I thought the same about Brexit. These constitutional decisions are so massive and have such an impact on people's lives that the vast majority have to subscribe to them. Or you end up splitting whatever nation is left. Which is precisely what Brexit has done.
