According to the rockdoctor, the Sydney gig was the stand-out gig of the tour so far. The Opera House was sold out apparently. There were also a lot of Quo fans boarding the cruise ship to do the Rock the Boat tour. I think that's dedication. Lee has also put up a lot of brilliant photos of some of the places and gigs he went to all around the world on his Instagram account. And I think Richie sounds great here: I'm sure Rick would have been very proud of him. This one here's brilliant, too: Nothing wrong with Richies voice, I was pleasantly surprised listening to the clips above its better than I thought it would be,, , nothing wrong with Richies guitar playing either,, but to me and imvho, thats not SQ, to me personally, it cannot possibly be SQ with Parfitt AND Rossi, Richie is trying to fill impossible shoes

When I saw there was a clip if Richie singing I thought "what the hell is going on here"!! Then I hit play and bloody hell the boy is good. Hope he gets the chance to do more. It also reminded me that much as we all loved Mr Parfitt his vocals in the live setting were not so great in later years especially after his throat op (stand by for flak). If we do get a new album then hopefully it will be rocking and it will feature more than Francis on vocals. The future isn't necessarily bright but it could be very interesting. If you refer to me regarding flak, you won't get none, as its a valid/fair point, Ricks voice was nowhere near as good after his throat problems, but it was still good enough for me. As for a new album, their only hope, IF they do one, is that Rhino writes the bulk of the material. IF they did release one, I would listen to it, and if I liked songs on it I would certainly say so,, but I still wouldn't regard it as SQ, despite what the album cover may state.

Actually the band are doing a bad job of going T..ts up ! I only have to watch the clip of Ritchie singing three posts back at a prestigious Arena to realise that. Brilliant job he is doing and doing Rick proud. And there is only one Status Quo touring. And after watching that clip I understand how Francis has been lifted and determined to continue. Even if it is for 💰 AND.. if Ritchie is allowed the space, adding his vocals to tracks ,SQ are very capable of making a cracking fresh sounding album ! Yes we all have opinions and preferences. I just prefer Lurpack to Anchor ! Status Quo in name only as far as I am concerned, but yeah yer right, we all have differing views/opinions,, for example, I dislike Lurpak (yuk) but don't mind Anchor. Regarding Richies vocals, I would be interested to hear any NEW material with Richie on lead vocals

Flack never bothers me. Everyone knows Ricks voice was completely Shot...live and on Record. I thought his vocals on QPQ were poor even though I do like a couple of his tracks. He even admitted that himself in that he struggled to write decent material and with his voice so nothing new there! Yes Richie can play 12 Bar very competently in my opinion and his vocals are 100% better than Ricks latter tours. So I’m looking forward to the gig I’m attending in December. Just the same as I enjoyed last years. Regarding filling Ricks shoes. Agreed. But he has to play the songs as that’s what the punters want. Just like tribute artists do...and a certain crowd seem to be enjoying that...so they are filling impossible shoes as well but that crowd seem to accept it ! But I think Richie will turn out to be his own man in time in the band in a very good way if they do record an album. At least then he can get the monkey off his back !

I so admire yer optimism,, ticket sales will of course dictate, and thus far, they are poor, very poor in fact, hence the switch back to electrics, maybe you hadnt sussed that ?

No matter how good Ritchie or the band are, there's nothing that can be done about that. If you used to watch Rick during gigs, it's not the same for you any more. I used to occasionally flirt with Rick, but mainly I've always watched Francis, so it's not that different for me - but I still have to get used to Ritchie. It's just, Rick had always been there ..

Yeah thats fair comment above, I admit I do miss that, but its NOT just that, for me, and in my opinion the whole sound has changed, for me at least

No but I read the last gig in Melbourne was a big success yesterday. Full house and the band and crowd enjoyed it. Maybe the Crowd were thinking that could be the last gig over there !

Maybe the Crowd were thinking that could be the last gig over there ! They'd be right. Francis said they were unlikely to tour down there again. It certainly sounds like the gigs in Australia have been a success. Which is good. As I've said before, I don't want them failing at anything. I love to see them succeed. They may have cocked up the whole UK winter tour thing and overdone the Aquostic gigs over here but I'm sure they'll bounce back. 6 people and a pet rabbit on a message board won't make any difference

Totally agree. Still hopeful they will go out an a high with a successful album to finish things off. Whatever type of material it is. Hopefully refreshingly different and not too much 12 Bar chug as it’s been done to death imo. Oooooh I can feel the tribute typists elsewhere at the ready...lol.

I can't criticise Richie in any way. He's good. OK, he's not Rick but he's good. The present band are quite different from the classic 4 but they have been since the late 70's. That's 40 years in case anyone thinks its a recent development. The present band are not so different from their immediate predecessor in 2016. Certainly not in sound. How anyone can call that band not Quo is beyond me
