Who or what are Gotthard, I’ve never heard of him / them before. Can anyone enlighten me please. They seem to be a rather popular Swiss rock band. I don't know a single song of theirs either, I think. I've found a newspaper report about the gig in Ingolstadt (5.4.) - there's a pic of Gotthard included too. It's very positive - but I won't translate it . Generally speaking, it seems they've changed the concept in so far that all artists keep changing constantly after 2 songs and don't play their stuff en bloc - apart from Francis, who only appears at the end. linkThanks for the link, photos are interesting. Not sure if you'll get this but interesting to see they have the Childcatcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on keyboards.

craydarr - Got to admit, I don't have a clue. I've watched the film, but it was very long ago and I can't remember a thing. Come across a video from Würzburg - ITAN: I can't tell there's an orchestra there from the video, I've got to admit - doesn't sound much different to the usual version IMO - but maybe that's merely down to the quality of vid ? I shall find out soon .. Saga are actually Ok, I've seen them support Quo before (in Colmar) and they had a hit or two here - most notably Wind Him Up. Shame Francis does The Wanderer. I hate that song with a passion ! Burning Bridges live I can live with, same goes for Caroline .. Not exactly creative, but with a show like this, he didn't have much choice I suppose. All newspaper reports so far have been overwhelmingly positive, but that was to be expected - with RMC they always are.

I love Saga to death, but I think Michael's choice of songs is a bit disappointing. Nothing from Generation 13 (which is the one truly "orchestral" album Saga ever did)...

I have to say I have been looking at clips on YouTube and everybody comes across very well, its just a shame it doesn't come to the uk. There seems to be a lot of love on the stage amongst the artists (as always), and perhaps I'm biased but Fran really does seem command the stage when he comes on. Perhaps he's loving the position of being "Top Dog"

(...) .. and by whom .. Well, i.e. the Ludwigsburg gig is history already .. Not according to the tour dates I can see on the RMC site... There it's scheduled for the 17th, which is Tuesday. I checked the dates on the Quo site and as it wasn't included there I thought it was already over. Wrong assumption obviously (sorry, Julian) What about your gig ? Not included or no report - or not attended ?

frozenhero , so how was Ludwigsburg last night? snakelady , hope you'll enjoy the (final) show tomorrow night. Thanks, Inna It'll be the first time for my mum to go out to any type of concert since my dad passed away. Hope she'll enjoy it. Not sure what my attitude is actually, guess I'll enjoy the hits up till Francis, kind of like an oldie show on the radio when they play old favourites. I'd have loved for Francis to choose something just a little more left field - Gerdundula say or Wild Side Of Life. I'm aware he's got to go for well known songs with a formate like this, but both usually fare comparatively well in that yearly all time best SWR chart. The omission of Down Down is obvious, but I guess, after Rick did that it would've been a little awkward. I assume Rick did ask him whether it's ok if he performed that and Francis won't have minded thinking he'd never partake in something like RMC anyway . Well, Rick's voice was certainly better suited for the high notes these days .. I'm sure though, as soon as the first tunes of Caroline ring out inevitably a big smile will appear on my face - same as always. And if Francis gets a great reaction from the audience I'll be proud of him and Quo.
