And I'm beginning to have trouble - or rather my browser is - loading this German tour page. Must be the number of pics causing an issue. Or something. I get there eventually but I keep getting "oops there seems to be a problem" type messages first.

No problem at work though. (Windows).

I'm sure it's just the amount of pics. The same thing happens on the Quo song of the day page with all the video clips posted and "quoted" and "quoted" again there. Anyway, 2010, Stuttgart, you said - but wasn't it rather Spider Murphy and his gang instead of The Dropkick Murphys...?? You're quite right! That's what I get for not seeing them. Thanks for keeping me right.

Never been to Munchen/Munich, never been to Germany but that's a city that I've always wanted to visit and that's because of the 1974 World Cup that was held in (as it was then) West Germany.
That's the first World Cup (WM?) that I remember and my favourite one ever. Thought the country looked just so beautiful and the complex at the Olympic Stadium looked so modern and stunning. Also, it helped that in the final, both teams were crammed with players who were, or later became legends.
Used to love watching European matches on the TV that were being held there.
Do both Munich teams now play at the Allianz Arena?

Do both Munich teams now play at the Allianz Arena? Allianz Arena when Bayern has a home match: .. and when 1860 München are playing: There are other options concerning the colours as well i.e. when Jogi Löw's boys have a match there: I used to love Frei Otto's design for the old Olympiastadion though: .. admittedly it wasn't designed for football though.

snakelady looks magnificent!
I didn't realise that 1860 had moved there too, such a classy thing to do regarding the colour of the stadium depending on who is at "home".
Shame to see the Olympic Stadium being disregarded like that but you can't halt progress! A pal of mine went there for a game in the early 1990s and said that it was just a fantastic arena.
The city itself looks incredible too. Charming.
(tagged you instead of replying as this thread has become a bit slow and I didn't want to slow it down any further).

If you ever plan to come to Germany - get in contact first Not sure 1860 is still playing there - think they're in serious financial trouble.

We get a Bundsesliga highlights show here after every matchday, but absolutely no coverage or even mention of Bundesliga 2. So all those faniliar names like St Pauli and Kaiserslautern are distant memories. It took me years to discover that Bayer Uerdingen had ceased to be.

Francis and Rick also have their handprints on the Walk of Fame in the Olympia Park, not far from the venues entrance if I remember correctly. See here
And yes, 1860 still plays Allianz Arena but are looking to move out and build their own stadium - but as Snakelady said they can't because they're broke as .

It's just that Bayer is merely sponsoring Leverkusen now, so Ürdingen had to change its name to KFC (I think ?) Ürdingen. And without the money from Bayer and management unable to cope they went down the leagues .. Lots of clubs with a long tradition are playing 2. or 3. Bundesliga these days. I.e. last Sunday there was a 2. league match VfB Stuttgart vs. 1.FC Nürnberg ..

Come to think of it 1FC Koln were in 2. BL for ages.

So the German leg of the LNOTE tour is over now. I've seen links to newspaper articles on the Quo homepage and most of them are overwhelmingly positive. Only exception is the one from the Welt - they better take that one down, as it was written by a militant Heep fan, who obviously wasn't able to get over the fact that Heep were the support and Quo the main act .. A few more gigs on the continent (guess we'll hear from Rosi ) and then it's time for the UK .. and a UK thread ..

Thank you Very much to you all that contributed with, pictures, reviews, comments to the German leg of the '(maybe not the) Last Of The Electric Tour' A very good read. As for the UK leg of the tour, I am not going, but I am seeing Stated Quo at the White Horse Pub on the day that the Francis Rossi Quo play the London 02 Arena on Dec 11th. I will also review John Coghlan's Quo at the Half Moon pub in Putney in Dec 30th.
