All over the other board. But this is the first time I've had the courage to click on the link Not as cringeworthy as I expected. In fact, it didn't make me cringe at all. Surprisingly. I must be getting old

Perhaps the way to look at it is that if it keeps the profile of the band up, brings in revenue and maybe sells some tickets as well then it’s not a bad thing. As cheesy as it is 😆.
These days, bands and celebrities pushing a product is hardly an unknown quantity.
It may help to keep the band going for a wee while longer . Who knows.

Agreed. Doesn't bother me. I'm not fifteen anymore. And nothing and no one should stay the same for 50 odd years. I mean, John Lydon advertised butter not that long ago! Iggy Pop, insurance. Alice Cooper, advertised Sky. Quo are in very good company

At the end of the day, after 50 odd years in the music business and various line up changes, the fact that they are still here and playing music to large audiences is all that matters. People can pick holes in everything they do, but they are still a great rock n roll band.

Doesn’t bother me one bit. As previously said it will be a nice little earner for the band, could sell more tickets. Lets hope it reignites the band to do one more self penned album.

At least it’s ignited a bit of interest on this board 🙂 Yeah, all 6 of us Incidentally, talking of interest, there's talk on the other board about a whole batch of 'new' Quo releases coming out; 13 in all. Loads of fancy descriptions using the words 'exclusive' and 'rare' but the bottom line seems to be that there's nothing coming out we haven't heard before and in formats some of us already have.

I was actually excited when I saw the email and then sorely disappointed when I saw there was nothing new to them. I’m not a completist so i wont be bothering. Sadly 😔

I wonder if the band gets lifetime staff discount cards as part of the deal 🙂

my sympathy lies with John Fogerty tbh. not only have they milked a living off his song, now they disrespect it like this.

It's obviously popular and synonymous with Quo but, I must admit, I don't think it's that great a 'song'. John Fogerty wrote so much better.
It has that singalong quality which is likely to make any song popular, so I get it's commercial attraction. And Live Aid basically meant Quo fans (and the band) were stuck with it for eternity. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing depends on your individual point of view.
But it's presumably a good earner all round.
