In short, Noddy Holder had been diagnosed with oesophageal cancer five years ago and was told at the time he had only six months left. His wife has only now revealed this story to a magazine called Cheshire Life). I don't subscribe, but it's all over the news and links back to Cheshire Life. His wife Suzan appears to be a regular columnist to this magazine and has written a few books. I don't know why she has come out with it now after so long, but he seems to be doing fine. Noddy Holder of Slade reveals five-year cancer battle

Noddy Holder of Slade reveals five-year cancer battleThanks for that, it was good to read a lovely story about his recovery, thanks for posting. I’ve got a lot of time for Noddy and Slade, they are one of the bucket list bands I would have loved to have seen in their heyday. It would be nice if the Fran/Noddy tunes and chat came off that someone posted somewhere. It’s probably just a vicious rumour 🙂

I was wondering why it had taken Mrs. H. five years to release this story, and I think I understand some of the reasons why. Back in 2017, my daughter (then 35) contracted acute myeloid leukemia, the most common type of acute leukemia in adults. EEEK!! She underwent chemo, got discharged only for it to come back the following year. So back to hospital, more chemo and this time she underwent a bone marrow transfusion. Regular checks gave us nothing to worry about and in June 2023 she was discharged as an out-patient. I think it was the five year mark, Noddy had been discharged and that was the trigger for Mrs. H. to let it all out. Slade were a part of my growing up - glad he's doing well.
