Does anyone remember when Quo first started using carpets on stage? during the 90's, people took the piss out of them but we did all cheat when someone would come on and hoover it though , but I've noticed lately a lot of bands like Guns N Roses, Foo Fighters etc all having carpets on stage now, just thought share my observation, maybe an age thing?

Can't really remember. I'll be honest, I've never really paid much attention. But I dare say it's designed to prevent little accidents to band members who run about a lot

I remember seeing Rush use a carpet at my very first gig at Newcastle City Hall in 1978, so it's not a new idea. I would guess it stops slipping, etc.

Ah I see, I always thought it was very odd, but I'm still young one at 47 I stand corrected, I've just noticed more bands do it lately, it does make sense especially as bands get older too
