Come on folks….last nights gig….good times? Have u seen the set list on the other board? I hadn't till you put this up. Then I just had to go and look In the past, I wouldn't have. Not really sure why I did it this time. You'd think after an absence of so many years, the set list would be academic. But somehow it isn't. Not to me anyway. This Saturday in Liverpool looms large.

Not long back from the Hull gig. The band were superb. First time I’ve seen them since 2016 and Very impressed with Richie’s vocals and the Backbine tracks. Seen a few comments saying the Backing Off is a bit of a plodder live but I thought it sounded fantastic and really heavy too. Only complaint was the encore. As good as Paper Plane was I would have liked at least one more song.

Loved it at bonus arena, got impression they over ran on time as encore appeared to cut short….my only complaint…no burning bridges at end. After 2 and half years without goin quoin I thoroughly enjoyed it and considering the time they have off they were up for it….bet they are finding it tiring….Liverpool next 👏👏👏👏👏

Did the Liverpool gig on Saturday. Told myself I'd probably have to take it easy. Been a while. But then you get there Bl00dy hell, it hurts this morning! I've got the worst Quo neck I've had in years Tried to do the gig with a mask on. Completely impractical. Kept slipping down. So if we don't catch Quovid from this, we never will. The gig was excellent. If I'm being picky (and this would be very picky), I'm not sure about the new tracks as live songs. Cut Me Some Slack certainly works but the other three, good as they are as songs, I'm not sure about. But that happens. I felt the same about Looking Out For Caroline for example. And probably quite a few albums before that. Highlight of the show (for me) was Softer Ride. It's just such a magnificent beast. And a full length Little Lady will always be welcome. I thought Rhino was struggling a bit at one point and saw Andy asking if he was alright. Bound to be tired and his voice was also affected when he was coming out of Covid. I now know why we do less gigs though. The travelling is a fvckin' nightmare. Up at the crack (i.e. still dark) on Saturday morning and 8 hours and 3 trains later, we finally get to our Liverpool hotel. Every train we were on was rammed to the rafters as well. It was the same on the way back. Great gig; rubbish travel; terrific hotel. We're back in the routine. And despite my excessive moaning, it's actually good to be back

I’m looking forward to hearing all of the new tracks regardless, just as it’s something different and not having seen them since 2016 it will be refreshing anyway. I totally agree about Softer Ride, it’s always a standout track for me. Did Rhino look bad then ?

Loved Liverpool…couldn’t get affordable room in city centre….£300 for one night..own fault for leaving it late but didn’t know if could make it…stayed at aintree, no cabs available so had to drive in so no drinks to party … had to be parked up by 6pm as told all roads closed off for Liverpool game😐😐. Next prob couldn’t get food and after 3 hours driving were peckish, managed to get table at TGI Friday after hours wait. Onto to the gig, met some lovely people, good quo chat, it was sold out but 6 seats behind us empty. Support ok…not quite my thing but other half enjoyed. Then the drone started ( I do miss the curtain drop drama) and we were off…WOOOHOO what a great night…wish I wasn’t quite so old, that strange sloping floor meant standing odd….the old knees paid for that. Show was superb, loved every bit except and I am also being picky on personal basis…no burning bridges in encore as I love that ending and thought encore bit ‘chopped’…looked at gigs when got back as desperate to see again but all I could get to sold out so have to wait til Leeds 👏👏👏👏🎸🎸🎸🎸the sound was much much better than hull arena, maybe because stood more central to the stage?

I was in Birmingham last night, first Quo gig since Wolverhampton 2013, I don't go very often as you can see Gotta say, I thought they were great, Francis was on top form and really looked like he glad to be back. weakest song for me was backing off, just didn't really going anywhere, but the other 3 backbone songs, I couldn't fault. As a lot of people dislike The Oriental and Beginning of the End, I actually like them, for me it's good to see them continuing to play newer songs, although there are loads I would've included too, but you can't please everyone. Overall, it was good to see them again, kind of like an old friend.

But he did lean back looking a bit tired and was talking to Andy during one of the songs. I think he also asked for water. I suspect he'll need to recover properly after this tour, although I don't know what sort of window they might have.

As the European part of the tour has been cancelled I suspect they will have some free time!

Looking forward to Guildford and Cardiff. Bit nervous about Guildford as it's the first time my better half will be seeing Quo. If the band are as good as reports suggest then she is in for a great time. Doing Cardiff on my own as I'm at the company office next week, so a new place to see them.

It was pretty much like the band had never been away. It certainly didn't feel like it had been 4½ years since I'd seen them. It was all very familiar. I can scarcely believe there's anyone still out there who hasn't seen them I'm sure she'll love it.

Also got her "You survived your first Quo concert" card Can't get it to show on here though.

Oxford tonight, I’ll report back in the next couple of days Hope you enjoy it. I toyed with the idea of getting a ticket earlier this year, but I'm now quite glad that I didn't bother. Not because I wouldn't like to go, but because I'm still not 100% as I still have shingles from the start of the year! I just don't have the energy to do much after work, and I'm going to bed at about 9:30pm, so a gig that finishes at gone 10pm, then a journey back to Winchester is just a bit too much at the moment.

Guildford was simply amazing. Great support band too. Best I've seen Quo for a few years. Followed up by Cardiff and again a fantastic night. Don't know what's got into them but they were on fire.

Awesome night in Oxford last night, I was up in the gods so had an entirely different perspective as I was sitting down for it.
Laurence Jones was great and I even bought a t shirt of his.
I will write a more lengthy report on my thoughts about the set list etc. at a later date but I will say this, that hearing the new songs live it has changed my opinion of 2 of them in a good way.
Great night all told👍

No doubt I'll see you out there somewhere Craydarr - are you doing Bournemouth later this year?

Oxford was the best night of the tour by a distance - different dynamic onstage as Andy Bown stayed behind his keyboards all night, adding some guitar but not coming forward. He might have been told to stay there, or might have had a bad foot, who knows, but it made for a better show.
