I used to liked Slade in fits and starts but a proper reunion would be a real coup for Glastonbury. I know there has been at least one Slade offshoot band with Dave Hill doing the rounds over the years but I don't think Noddy has done much. He's mostly a DJ and a presenter these days.
I imagine they're all well into their 70's now so it'll be hard work for them. But, you never know; something like this could kick off a bit of a mini revival if they do get back together and go down well.
All assuming Glastonbury goes ahead of course. Although I think we can be a little more optimistic this year compared to the previous two.

By coincidence, some were bemoaning the lack of live video material of Slade at their peak on the other message board a while back and comparing it to how little of Quo there is as well. Basically, how so few acts were filmed in their glory days. This changes things a bit. There's nothing like this of Quo from the 70's. Good find

Good find It’s sparked a Re- interest in Slade for me, current faves are Bangin Man and How Does It Feel. A while ago I bought a Slade Live Boxset, Slade Alive 2 has always been my favourite, great album.

I've always liked Slade Alive (the first one) but haven't heard the other. I was never a huge fan. I liked one or two singles but didn't get into their albums to any great extent. I only saw them live once but that was when they had their second wind in the early 80's. I never managed to catch them during their glam rock peak. It's funny, because when I first saw Quo way back in 1973, another bloke in the class at school who was more of a hippy (into Gong and Soft Machine and all that nonsense) was also there and he said - and I quote - " reminded me of Slade" He meant the audience of course but I always remember that. I had been blown away and he had been bored. Just goes to show. Wonder where he is now

The box set also has Slade on Stage which covers the 80s material and it then also has the Reading EP on there as well. My brother is a big fan, but I got into them via the 80’s stuff, which I really like. Am envious of you seeing them in the 80’s, wish I had. The nearest I got to seeing them was Dave Hill and his mates before lockdown, under the name of Slade. It was good for the songs tho. Interestingly I was looking on Jim Lea’s site last night and he has released a 2 cd album which includes a live disc and it has some great stuff on there. Check out his live version of shakin All Over and Pretty Vacant on YouTube it certainly shows some attitude 🙂
