Indeed he will. The end of an era really. I didn't even know he had been ill recently. Only found that out this morning. RIP, Sir Charles. Probably the most well known drummer in the world

Charlie Watts never needed a watch to keep time - the watch needed Charlie Watts.
He was never flash, never performed pointless drum solos. He was just rock solid, one of the greatest drummers of his generation.
The Stones had already made plans to resume their USA tour with Steve Jordan, whom the Stones have known from his work with The X-pensive Winos and the Stones own Dirty Work album. Charlie is on record as believing that to be the case - that they'd simply get someone else if anything happened to him. Only if Mick quits or worse will the Stones end, he said.
BTW, if anyone fancies themselves as a guitarist with the Stones, get practising now. Ronnie Wood has just fought off his second bout of cancer in the last four years, so he must be the bookies favourite to pop off next.

Just the day before he died I though of the time he fought off cancer and thought of him as "The Unkillable Charlie Watts." How strange.
RIP Charlie and the best to those who love him.
