Not yet. Should be this week I guess. It was published on Saturday. Probably depends on the method of delivery how quickly it will arrive.

I thought that. When the delivery driver left the package on the doorstep my immediate reaction was, if anyone knows what this is - i.e. a nigh on 100 quid book - it's ripe for going astray Initial impressions, which is just a quick flick through, is that it's all packaging and very little substance. A bit arty-farty. But very nice to look at Storage might be an issue because it is HUGE!!

So is it a good book? Worth the money? Views please..🤔 This largely depends on what you'd want from it I think. I read it yesterday - cover to cover - and it took me about 20 minutes. So if it's a lot of inside information you're looking for, there really isn't much. The tag line for the promotion " see what really goes on; to be in the inner sanctum" doesn't really deliver on that to any great extent, although there are a large number of what I'd call good but nevertheless 'arty' photographs. Close-ups of mixing desks, mics, pedals, etc as well as of Francis in his studio. The vast majority in black and white. The book is basically made up of three sections; studio, stage and finally a selection of extra photographs for which Francis deliberately seemed to pose. It's one of those large books bound in a box you see sometimes in posh stores. Mrs Mortified got one years ago from Selfridges before she met me based on Marilyn Monroe's life in pictures. It cost her £250 even then, so I suppose it's all relative. For me, I'm glad I have it. But there are too many blank/black pages padding it out. Art for art's sake someone once sang But it is beautifully presented and packaged so, on a superficial level, it works. Don't expect any revelations though. This is an exercise in self-indulgence. If not for Francis then certainly for those who put it together and whose idea it was.

It's all Francis, mate. Other members of the band get a passing mention when he's occasionally talking about the writing process but there are no photos of anyone else. This is purely a Francis Rossi vehicle. I dare say not his idea (these things never are) but he goes along with things presumably on the basis that he's told they'll make money. Which they invariably do. I just wonder, what with an autobiography, two talk tours, a solo album, this book, TV and radio appearances and some dad rock CD or something on the horizon, how do the other band members make any money? I know Leon always has some band or other on the go and I think Richie has his day job but I do feel for the others watching this never-ending self projection from the wings. Hopefully they'll benefit and it's a question of Francis keeping Status Quo in the headlights. I hope deep down that's the whole point. And it almost makes sense because Joe Public don't know who anyone else is

Just as a quick post-script to this, I was interested to see how many pages were actually blank. Out of 304 pages, 44 of them are plain black with nothing on them at all. I reckon at least another 30 are black with maybe one or two lines on them; quotations from Francis in answer to a hidden question I assume. The remainder are photos. I'm not going to need a spreadsheet to keep track

Not my job, col / tramper It's not my perception either. Or even my opinion. Just telling how it is and what's in there. I never did get round to buying the Marquee book a few years back. I may well do some day. But it was probably 3 times the price of this one. Early editions are four figures! If it's proper VFM you're after, the 50 quid job by that Dutch bloke with the CD in it and the gig guide at the back is probably tops for me. But I just like to have everything. Sad, old Quo fan, me. I used to be a sad, young Quo fan Can you spot the common denominator(s)? PS - Incidentally, there was a close-up of handwritten lyrics on lined paper. I didn't recognise them at all. To be fair, they could be from that last solo album he did but I listened to it less than once all the way through so I can't tell. Are they inside the CD? I might go have a look.

AND... I have not received a shipping confirmation or a tracking code / link... anyway, it's here… will have a look at it in the next few days

Embarking on a musical journey is both exciting and challenging, and your quest for a college that truly values woodwinds resonates with every aspiring musician. Your dedication to the saxophone deserves a stage that appreciates the unique charm it adds to compositions. Exploring out-of-state colleges broadens horizons, and the keyword "opinion essay examples" essaypro.com/blog/opinion-essay is instrumental in shaping your decision. Consider crafting an insightful essay, blending personal experiences with researched perspectives, to articulate the essence of woodwind appreciation. Your pursuit is not just about education; it's about finding a harmonious community where your saxophone melodies can truly thrive. Best of luck!

That's about the weirdest attempt at spamming I've ever seen, or is it even spam without a spam link??
