I've just found the album after reading the latest FTMO. Don't know how I missed this thread Had a listen to the extracts of the album on iTunes. Sounds pretty good. That track, Heroine Heights, is great. A million miles from Leon's Nova Neon project a few years back. Yeah, very powerpop/punk. He's keeping himself busy

I like the MNM vol1 album, have heard it a few times now and it gets better the more I get used to it. Not sure what Leon’s Neon Nova stuff is like tho ?

A very modern, urban sound with hints of jazz and all sorts. I love the way he seems to fit into all styles of music quite comfortably. Quo have got themselves a real gem in Leon. Wish they'd give him more influence! This was a single they released when they were initially calling themselves Chroma. But I think there was another band with the same name and one called Chromatics who had some success so they changed it to Neon Nova. Something like that.

Cheers for that I actually quite liked it, good sound and the singers got a good voice. Shame I got the name wrong 🙂 I agree with you about Leon, I think it took a while for him to find his feet in Quo but he’s always done the business when I’ve seen them live. Check out the hey hello album u may like it 👍

I will do I got the name wrong further down the thread as well! I think Leon uses his day job to fund his other musical interests. As they all do I suppose. So much diversity of talent within the band that the general public don't appreciate. Ironically, Francis is probably the least experimental/diverse of them all. In fact, I'd say he, Rick, Alan and John - the classic line-up - were always the least diverse as individuals. Which is fine. They created the Quo sound that we love above all else.

I had enough of the old SQ board before they closed it. I look to see if anything interesting is on there n that’s all. 🙂

I look to see if anything interesting is on there n that’s all. 🙂 There's more traffic over there. Heavy traffic you might even say I'd forgotten my login details and because it's the same provider as this one (Pro-Boards) it was tricky getting in and out if I was logged on here. But I eventually nailed it and just hung around. But there's much less negative and downright insulting nonsense than there was on the original official message board. Bits and pieces, obviously, but it's not entire threads slagging off Rhino.

I have to say, I really like the Middlenight Me, funnily enough the guy who mastered the album is a friend of mine, who's band 'Hey You Guys!' are supporting them later in the year,

Now I understand why there were some Quo mates putting up pics on Facebook of a Middlenight Men gig in London.
