I really like this track, I would have liked it to be the single to promote the album.
Anybody agree? or what choice would you have picked?

The original mix, before the added keyboards.
Sometimes less is more.

I like the song. I think it was a good album overall. Dynamic (in terms of songs). The original mix, before the added keyboards. Sometimes less is more. Which original mix?

There was/is quite a widely available "first" mix of the album which had different mixes and edits. Off the top of my head there is a longer version of Beginning Of The End, Saddling Up with some sound effects and versions of Alright and IDWTHYA with less keyboards, which I prefer.

Yeah, the original was better. I think someone said that Pip went back into the studio and added little bits and bobs here and there. As already said, there was a sort of demo/sampler kicking about before the album's release which had about half a dozen tracks on it. We had it playing in the car as we drove across Sweden in July 2007 when seeing the band. From memory it had the first 5 songs from the album plus Figure Of Eight. There may well have been more than one sampler if col can remember Saddling Up. That song wasn't on the one I had. I might still have it somewhere, although I fear it may have been lost with the previous PC. It was on the hard drive and was never on a CD as such. Can't even remember where I got it from. Someone in France I think e-mailed me a zip file. Actually, no; it's now coming back to me. They e-mailed the future Mrs Mortified on my behalf. I had just moved into a flat and didn't have t-internet for a while. So she heard it first and told me what it was like. She then put it on a CD (hence being able to play it in the car now I think about it! ). That CD could be anywhere between here and Malmo But yeah, getting back on track and skimming over my life story , a cracking good toon.

I'm only aware of the "Unmastered Promo Version" of the album. It had a longer BOTE. The others all had the same length. The mixes are slightly different, but aside BOTE, nothing very special. IDWTHYA simply doesn't have the keyboards at the beginning, but the rest is the same. I do think there were some even earlier versions. But I never heard those. Would like to get my ears on those.

Good story ahah Travelling sounds almost like a nostalgic activity, given the situation with COVID-19. Would love to hear those earlier versions, if you ever find the tracks eheh

I find the chorus kinda annoying. Maybe it's because they start right away with it. OK song on an album that's mostly filled with better ones, IMO

I Like the song, not sure if should have been the single. I think BOTE was the best option for this album.

Yeah the longer BOTE had sixteen bars instead of eight of the little guitar riff right after the first chorus ( where Rhino gets the crowd to clap) and a longer outro where Francis did “we’re gonna let you know” in a lower octave

And he sings “oh happy days “....the “oh” got chopped That seems to be yet another version. There are 4 public versions, as far as I can gather: 1) The album version; 2) The single version: same as above, but with the intro cut and sooner fade out. No edits on the song structure. 3) The "unmastered promo" version, which is about 5:10 minutes long and it's like you said on your previous post, but still has the "oh" chopped. 4) A possibly earlier mix, that popped up on YouTube some ten years ago that is like the above version, but has the "oh" there. It also lacks some backing vocals and the tambourine. It has a longer "we're gonna let you know" part at the end (even longer than the above version because it repeats the higher octave part). And the outro just loops for a while (unlike the above version where the outro just goes on). I'm saying it loops because the drum fills are exactly the same (each two fills); they are just on repeat. This version is slightly edited. If it wasn't for the extra "oh" and the lack of the tambourine and backing vocals here and there, I'd've said it was just an edited version of the above.
