Announced on the 23rd July at Northolt Aerodrome, with Rick and Francis arriving in Spitfires. Chris Tarrant and Norris McWhirter explained to the press what exactly Quo were going to be doing for this Record Breaking attempt. A UK tour in 1 single day, starting from 12 noon on BBC's "Going Live!" with the band playing Let's Work Together and the Greatest Hits Medley (or Brit Awards Medley). The band, with Cheryl Baker, raced off to Northolt Airport. From there, they would begin to make their way to the first show at the Sheffield Arena. The band hit the stage at around 2pm playing around 50 minutes to an hour setlist. After that, the band made their way to Glasgow for their next gig at the S.E.&C.C., which they would arrive 2 minutes late for. At this show the band realised this would no longer be as easy as they first thought. Quo were half an hour late for the Birmingham show and a total of 50 minutes late for the Wembley Arena gig. At 11:09pm, the band completed their record breaking attempt and were presented with certificates by Norris McWhirter. Channel 4 documentary broadcast on the 5th October 1991 at 11:00pm. I had to edit it down ever so slightly to remove footage from Live Aid and the Brit Awards as that stuff is heavily copywritten.

I remember the documentary. Was it included with the double video that came out or was it only ever broadcast on TV? I've long since got rid of my videos so I can't check; which was foolish in retrospect coz I could have had them converted on to DVD I missed all the build up in the morning because we were on our way to the actual gig. Cheers for sharing

Cheers for sharing This version was just broadcast on TV in October and again in December, but it was a revised broadcast with the full Paper Plane from Sheffield. The documentary from the double VHS was thrown together by PolyGram Video Ltd., and produced by Hugh Symonds, including footage from the rehearsals, 'Status Quo Stakes' Newbury Horse Racing Event and interviews with David Walker and Iain Jones. I wonder how the band felt that David Walker pretty much took the day off watching football whilst the band were flying around the country doing his whole concept.

No worries! I do have a better quality VHS transfer of the October 5th broadcast coming soon, along with the December broadcast also. I've managed to track the master copies down as well for an official release / project further down the line. I've wrongly re-titled the video as well, as I've since found out both broadcasts had different titles; Rock 'til You Drop - October 5th 1991, 11:00pm Broadcast. Rocking All Over The UK - December 1991 Broadcast. Not sure what day or time this was shown at. Synopsis; Highlights of four charity concerts played in 12 hours by Status Quo to celebrate 25 years in the rock business. They performed to 40,000 fans in Birmingham, Glasgow, Sheffield and London. Cheers
