My favourite is Better Take Care. I've not listened to John David's version since the album came out, but I don't think his was like Francis's was it? I love Francis solo in this. Will have to go back and listen to the original again.

Face The Music.
It's one of a very small handful of 'pure Quo' moments, the others being bits of Cut Me Some Slack.
They've captured the driving rhythm and spirit of old in these small sections.
Was i yearning for a vintage Quo album? No. Whatever they produce is interesting to me, as long as they're being natural, man.

I've been wrecking my brain, but I can't say.
With Quo guitar solos have always been parts of the songs, completely integrated. They fit in so beautifully that for many years I didn't even notice them - apart from tunes like 45xx, that mainly are guitar solos, of course. From most songs I know every little solo note and sing them along in my head, same as the lyrics, they just are the songs, part of them. Francis is a remarkable guitarist for that. He's definitely not the type - verses are over, now listen how many notes I can play per second, here cometh the guitar hero. With Quo it's the songs as a whole that work - or not - and on BB they definitely work.
Doesn't mean I haven't been thinking ' wouldn't it be wonderful if this solo would go on much longer or if there were some longer guitar outros. Don't get me wrong, I love his melodic style. It's just that the solos fit into the respective songs and wouldn't work with any other song. That's good in my book, but how do you rank or class that ?
It'll still take some time till I know the new songs by heart completely - words and notes. But it'll remain difficult for me to separate the solos from the songs ..

Nailed on. Totally agree. That change of Key with the solo and the driving rhythm over that 30 seconds is the absolute highlight of the album for me.
