German Interview, It shows they listen to things that are said as Fran refers to criticisms of them not looking like a Rock band on a recent TV show.

There's also an interview in this month's Classic Rock with Francis and Bob Young (and a smaller one with Richie in the same article). Quite entertaining. I'm not sure who was asking the questions but it was someone who can get away with it. My guess would be Dave Ling. Whoever it is, has a right go at them for allowing Rhino and Andy to 'murder' Rick's songs But Francis doesn't seem to take the bait. I think he normally would. The album also gets a top notch review. In fact, if I'm honest, I've never seen a Quo album NOT get a half decent review in there. A lot of interviews doing the rounds at the moment. As you'd expect I suppose. Interesting that Richie is doing his fair share. As the replacement for "the blonde one", that will be a deliberate policy I imagine.

Deliberate policy as in bring down the age demographic?

Deliberate policy as in bring down the age demographic? Deliberate policy as in showing off the 'replacement'. Most Quo fans are well aware of Rick's demise but more casual fans (of which there are undoubtedly a very large number) will be curious and will also see that the band are still going. Having Richie there cements things a bit. Mind you, that's just my theory. But it's interesting that Rhino or Andy or Leon are not being asked to step up to the plate. Not with these TV/magazine interviews.

Not with these TV/magazine interviews. Not sure that's a fair assessment. To me it more looks like they're trying to get the band concept across. There's been interviews including the whole band too. Maybe in this case the it were that they'd have merely two band members max. for the interview. They'd not fitted all five on the sofa. Nice interview anyway - when he's in the mood, it's a joy to listen to Francis. His mind seems to never stop thinking as there's always substance in his answers. Sometimes it was hard for Ritchie to get a word in. Reminded me of 'I Talk Too Much ..' . Only at times it was difficult to understand the interviewer (yes, you've got a horrible German accent ).

The only time I've seen all 5 members of the band give interviews recently is in the official promotional video. I haven't seen any of the others on TV unless they were performing. Same with magazines. Radio I don't know about. A 'band concept' would certainly involve all 5 and the official video goes down that road. I'm not that bothered either way; it's been the deliberate policy for decades and I'm used to it. I just find it interesting the number of times Richie is interviewed when compared to the rest. I don't think that's an accident. But, again, I'm not bothered. It's just an observation. I like Richie

I read it from a link on the other board last week. When you read it again knowing that it's Dave Ling, it makes more sense. To be fair to him, although he winds Frame up with a few questions and comments he also says that the band are good in concert, he likes the new album, and he's come to accept that they should be able to carry on without Rick (I'm paraphrasing obviously). It was an interesting read!

I would like Rhino to do some interviews alongside Francis. I think it would be more 'balanced' as he's been in the band over 30 years now, has a lot more history (and stories) with Francis than Ritchie has, wouldn't be as scared to 'but in' as Ritchie is, and might lighten the mood a bit like Rick did as he generally has a sunny and jovial personality. All in my opinion.

There's also an interview with Francis in the Planet Rock mag. A sort of quick fire question thing. And a review of the album.
The album doesn't get quite the high praise it's been getting elsewhere. 3 out of 5 stars I think (I only had a quick glance).

The last time I saw Rhino being interviewed with Frame was around around 88 and I think it was to do with the Sport Aid / Running All Over The World track.
