Alas, the sheer existence of Simply Red means that Mrs Mortified will not set foot in Greater London on the day. She has a Mick Hucknall phobia Be good if some of Quo's set was on TV though. I think the Aquostic performance was. We shall see.

So yep, I expect it to be broadcast in full length. And from the band's POV it would make sense if they'd introduce one or two more new songs into the set (a là Heavy Traffic) IMO.

Chances are it'll be a shortened set. I don't see them shoving too many new songs into the set for an event like this. New songs will cut no ice with your average Westlife or Clean Bandit fan. Mind you, neither will the old ones The funny thing is, by playing the usual hits and presumably going down in the normal way (ooh, matron), that constitutes promotion for the new album in itself. Sticking the band back into the public consciousness sort of thing. The album will have been out a week when they play Hyde Park.

Most of the bands only get about 45 minutes and then the headliner gets longer at the end.

Wouldn't surprise me if Backbone will be the Album of the week on Radio 2, on the week of release. Quo will probably do a 50 minute set at Hyde Park

I'm sure Loz said somewhere Mick Hucknall and his boys wanted to go and watch the mighty Quo.
