Cheers for that I listened to the first two then thought to myself "NO!". Be patient What I heard sounded excellent though I'll probably not be able to resist for long but I am trying

Another test of my patience and resolution to not listen to any more songs .. Did I mention that after having cancelled the 2CD cum t-shirt order it was really difficult to find some place that still sold the 13tunes digipack ? Finally found it on the Media Markt site and ordered Andy's re-release too, while I was at it.

Couldn't resist I just listened to all the snippets for about 10 seconds. Not sure how long each sample is; it doesn't say. My immediate impression - and I fully accept that these quick samples don't begin to tell the story - was that some may find the album quite one-paced. Every track sounds like it has quite a lively tempo. But there will be dynamics within songs that I don't yet appreciate. Put it this way, if anyone likes Quid Pro Quo, they'll probably like this. And you won't have to skip the last track

1. Waiting for a woman - a similar category of songs as "Blues &Rhythm" off HT 2. Cut me some slack - great rocker 3. Liberty Lane - a slower song that has its special magic 4. I see you're in some trouble - love this midtempo dirty boogie 5. Backing off - nothing special apart from a nice chorus 6. I wanna run away with you - along with a different sample on Quo's FB&twitter, this sounds like an archetypical Quo track, with shades of All We Really Wanna Do 7. Backbone - nice little track, reminds of Rhino's Owusu Owusu 8. Better take care - better than John David's version, but let's wait till hearing it in full 9. Falling off the world - probably the only song (sample) that had a different atmosphere to it, well done Leon 10. Get out of my head - sounds like the most serious rocker on the album, looking forward to hearing its full version, well done Richie 11. Running out of time - a typical softy that Quo have released heaps of in every decade, nothing new, but still nice
Overall it sounds like a typical Quo of this millennium, no super hits, no ballads, just plain Quo rocking and rolling.

I listen to the snippets and to be honest I never judge anything on snippets that much as it doesn't paint the whole story. So I'm keeping my thoughts until I hear it all.

Is this the new status quo album you are judging? course it is and I aint buying it.!!! Can't see how you can tell anything about the songs by the clips that are available. To say no to the clip of Get Out of My Head is strange as it does sound very much like classic hard Quo from the bit we can hear. And to say erm to most of the others is just bizarre. The clips in reality do not show off enough of each song to form any kind of reliable judgement.

I need to stop playing Backbone and Liberty Lane for starters or I'll be fed up with them by the time the album comes out. There seems to be a longer gap this time between the release of 'singles' and the release of the album giving me time to become, eh, accustomed to the new songs Although that's probably just my perception. One of the few timescales that appears to get longer with age as opposed to shorter

We've also heard Cut Me Some Slack and (a version of) Better Take Care of Me... .but there's still 9 other new songs to be discovered and enjoyed on the 6th September. That's as many as the classic albums in full! I keep playing them. I'm enjoying it; an EP now, and a new album in 3 weeks!

I assume the samples have been taken down and because of that the original post has been deleted ? I wasn't going to listen to them anyway ..

Haven't you even watched the two live tracks yet on youtube? I've watched both - think they fit great into the live set And I've listened to the John David original, but I've avoided everything else since. Makes it much more exciting to finally hold it in my hands.

I can at least now listen to the title track whenever I want, as I bought the current issue of Classic Rock that has the track on its CD - and the album is reviewed as the issue's highlight (8/10) although the review doesn't say a lot, really...

Yeah, the link has gone now. I was going to see if it had added the two bonus tracks as samples. Never mind.

Somebody put this on the place that has not to be mentioned but I haven't a clue if I have done it right link Works a treat and both of the bonus tracks are on there. Interesting. Especially Crazy Crazy. Unquestionably a country feel to that one with a bit of a jig thrown in.
