Andy's last solo album has just had a second release and includes a previously unreleased bonus track and new artwork. It actually came out yesterday and is on the official Quo website. I was blissfully unaware until this morning. I've just been reading about it and I had no idea that Trevor Bolder played on it. I was just watching him last night on a David Bowie documentary. An original Spider no less! Kudos Another link is right here: www.andybown.com/

In a way similar to Rick - not a member from the start, but for decades the second recognised Uriah Heep member from their heydays till his death in 2013.

I thought Gary Thain was a superb bassist. So much potential cut very short

Can't stand the "new" artwork for this re-issue... it's so bland when you compare it to the original artwork.
To me it seems as if they could get the rights or couldn't be arsed licensing the pictures used on the original cover art again

To me it seems as if they could get the rights or couldn't be arsed licensing the pictures used on the original cover art again As I recall, Andy took the photo for the artwork on the original release himself. I remember reading that he took a sort of selfie looking at an old photo of himself and it turned out enigmatic enough to use. Not sure when the new CD will arrive. I ordered it on Friday but Amazon say between 21 August and 5 September! They're usually next day so goodness knows where it's coming from

I didn't order the original - I do have problems with Andy singing - and while this hasn't changed a lot, I might order the re-issue. Obviously I've recently become more tolerant towards styles of music that did nothing for me previously, so Andy deserves a chance as well .. EDIT: as if on cue Andy has shown up in this thread

I quite like a few of the tunes on the album, though I haven’t listened to it in quite a while. Don’t think I’m up for purchasing it again just for one bonus track, I’ll no doubt give it a stream or two to see what it is like.

Andy said he was unhappy because he couldn't properly promote it first time around (there's a short article in GoodTimes, also a review). But can he do it this time with a new Quo album just around the corner?!

But can he do it this time with a new Quo album just around the corner?! Maybe his record company thinks the new Quo album will spark interest in anything Quo, including solo albums from band members, so it would be good timing to have more 'new' Quo product out ? And it's not that an extensive promotional campaign is planned once it's released. Interviews -radio and otherwise - usually are Francis' job as the public probably wouldn't know any other band member now that Rick is gone, so Andy should have enough time this autumn to promote it and maybe even play a solo show or two.

Just landed on my doorstep half an hour ago. I actually quite like the packaging. A tidy little digipak. I'll check out the bonus track shortly

The bonus track is called Dancing In The Rain. It's got a sort of lounge/jazz feel to it with brushes on the drums and possibly a double bass. I like it. Reminds me somewhat of Neil Young's Harvest Moon. That sort of style if anyone knows it.

Probably not if you're not a daft collector like me. The packaging is nice but you can always just download the bonus track if you fancy it. I don't think the album has been remastered or anything like that

Got the notification that mine's on its way. As I didn't buy the first release it's definitely worth it for me. I quite like digipacks. It's the closest you can get these days to the vinyl sleeves from our youth with the booklets and pics included. Guess I'll stop buying music once CDs have disappeared completely and it's all virtual, download or streaming or whatever they'll come up with next ..

Is the original artwork also included somewhere within the package?

Mine has arrived today - might give it a listen tonight. frozenhero - I'm not able to answer that, as I don't own the original. The digipack has the rubber gloves pic on the front, and contains a few photos of Andy on the various sleeve sides plus a booklet with the lyrics.

Is the original artwork also included somewhere within the package? All of the original artwork is also in the new release. It's just set out in a different way. The lyric booklet, for example, is a different colour and some photos are part of the digipak itself.
