I just realised I've actually got the song from the new album that John David wrote. It's on his album, Rollin' Home (great album by the way). Handily, it's also on YouTube. Have a listen. I dare say Quo's arrangement will be different. Sounds good though. Has a singalong, country feel to it with a bit of oomph

Francis certainly loves John David's stuff, which is understandable. He does write some catchy tunes to be fair. But if Quo had to record a cover for the new album why couldn't it have been "How many times?" by Ian Hill. That could've been bloody epic.

Agreed. But it's a direction, Francis at least, is at pains to steer away from; that nod to past 70's glories. I also think there seems to be some sort of arrangement with John David. They have recorded over half a dozen of his songs since the mid 80's. He must still have the negatives

Have listened to JDs version - there's a link in the other thread . Well, I hope Quo's rendition will sound different, heavier ..

I thought it was an advert for the album. Silly me and apologies, Cammy! I can see Quo sticking faithfully to the original if I'm honest but you never know.

Good song, as Snakelady says letโs hope they beef it up a bit as well.

Is this the first Quo song with a bit of lead vocals from three different members of the band??

Is this the first Quo song with a bit of lead vocals from three different members of the band?? Certainly from those three! I noticed that too. I really liked this song when I heard the original, and was happy that Quo would do it like that. But I think they've done a great job with it and I love Quo's version. One of my favourites from the album. And it's a bit different from the other JD songs that Quo have covered too which is good.

It's actually nice to have the others sing too and not just Francis. I was a bit worried when I heard JD's original, didn't much like the song, but Quo's version is miles better !
