Roll Over Lay Down (11)
You can't compare votes from various albums as the number of voters differs and considerably at times, but they help rank the songs from single albums. It's fair to say though that we really, REALLY can't stand Tommy. And again the numbers of songs we don't like reflect the overall popularity of albums as well. Although with some albums it's quite a number of tunes that stay just below the chosen cut-off point, while with others, most songs are rather popular with just the one outstanding duffer. To show that I'll soon add a list of most unpopular tunes from every single album with its percentage of voters.
Overall I'd say there aren't that many surprises in the list, but it does include a few songs I like.

The inclusion of Caroline is bizarre!

The inclusion of Caroline is bizarre! Don't think it's got anything to do with the song itself. Else it would've had its share of votes on Hello as well. More to do with us being sick and tired of re-recordings (as you can see, WYW and RAOTW received the same 'treatment').

Out of the 5 songs from Perfect Remedy I don't skip, three are on that list, including the beautiful 1000 Years. I merely like two songs from 1982, but one is Jealousy. The list goes on ..

I bet there's someone, somewhere out there that likes Tommy. Apart from Francis obviously Actually, on that theme, I can't remember where he said it; might have been the live talk or it might have been a mag interview. But Francis said that he loves that kind of ballad. One with that old 50's crooner sort of melody to it. Like Tommy and like Beautiful. Maybe even Fakin' The Blues at a push. That sort of groove/rhythm has a name but I can't remember what he called it. They're not for me I must admit. Or most Quo fans by the looks given the panning that Tommy always gets. Beautiful is too tucked away and hidden to coz any offence

Most of the least popular are fairly predictable but some are a real surprise; for me, Unspoken Words and Breaking Away in particular. Even Na Na Na. Not sure how the percentage works though. Can three songs from the one album all reflect 59% for example? But the usual suspects are all there; both Tommy's (like one wasn't enough ), Restless, Mystery Island, Hound Dog, Everything, Jealousy, Marguerita Time....
All your average fans' pet hates over the years . And not all at the feet of Francis. Mr Parfitt is equally culpable

That's the only percentage that makes sense IMO - percentages of overall votes (so it adds up to a total of 100%) wouldn't tell an awful lot.

In The Army Now, I have to say I thought the original song was brilliant, I know people get bored with it I've, but rockers especially people who love their metal and heavier music love it, I discovered this in the mid 90's through friends, which I found surprising, , what I love about the original song was, it was serious, no gimmicks, nothing, it was a cool song. So the rerecording, 2010, I know it was for help the heros, but they didn't seem to want to get behind it, as when advertised on the radio at the time it was stated 'for some charity' which was insulting, the re recording I thought was fine, and I accept changing the lyrics for that period of time too, I didn't like the new 'STAND UP AND FIGHT' sounded very weak to be fair, but the added backing vocals / harmonies at the end was nice. The thing that pissed me off about the re recording was the video, it was played for laughs, which is why people laugh at the band, and that let it it down for me, the same as the video for the beginning of the end and jam side down. But the one song I always thought was too cheese and e was Tommy's in love and tommy pmsl. diabolical. songs on the list I alway loves were Gentleman Joes Sidewalk Cafe So Ends Another Life Everything Young Pretender Magurerita Time In Your Eyes Speechless Centrefold Roll Over Lay Down (Aquostic) and why call it aquostic? it stinks of cheese

I really liked it. It was different but not in a Restless sort of way, which Francis bemoaned when they released that song. It had a seriousness to it, as did the video; a side of the band that is almost never on show. The re-recording turned the whole thing on it's head and went from being anti-armed forces/war to something else entirely. I found the whole project a little bit distasteful. Interesting that they never sang the new version when performing it live.

Going by the % it seems we (nearly) all agree on the 2010 Army version having been a mistake. It was a worthy cause, but turning Army on its head led to a big credibility problem. You just can't turn the meaning of the lyrics around 180°. And I don't even mind the video - kids in a playground springs to mind - but maybe it was meant to show how much fun and adventure it is ? I guess they never sang it live as Francis would've never remembered the lyrics.
