Currently in America visiting my son in Portland, Oregon.
He took us to see Snow Patrol on Tuesday at the Roseland theatre.
I’ve seen them once before supporting U2 but it was great seeing them in a small venue up close.
Superb live band.

I like Snow Patrol. I think they have a new album out but I haven't checked it yet. A Hundred Million Suns from way back is a great album and Lifeboats one of my all time fave songs. Never seen 'em live. Nice one

Never heard of the band .. .. but glad you liked the gig. Enjoy the family meeting ! They're not Scottish as such I don't think but the main man (Gary Lightbody) is from Northern Ireland and formed the band when he was at the University of Dundee back in the 90's. This is probably their biggest hit single. It got to no.6 in the UK and no. 8 in Germany in 2006.

I think 'Run' is truly epic as well. Very jealous Colin.

Out of the two tracks, I preferred 'Run'. 'Chasing Cars' to me, sounded like a reworking of 'Run'

I just never was into this style of music.

Doesn’t sound too much like Depeche Mode or AHA to me lol.

My favourite Snow Patrol track. Not a clue what it's about! But it has a wonderful feel, melody and groove to it.

We used to see them for nothing every few weeks or so at the uni bar in Dundee back in the mid-90's when they were called Polarbear. They were very different, quite grungy and punky, they used to jump up on the tables and the bar as they were playing. I think they changed their name to Snow Patrol shortly after and released a single or two.
Myself and a few mates were in a band, and moved into a cottage in the west end of Dundee of which the previous tenants were.....Snow Patrol! We used to get their mail through the door, and they had signed the big old wooden kitchen table - so we signed it too! Often wonder if it's still there!
I think when Coldplay and that genre of music really got going, they changed direction quite drastically. Can't say i'm a fan.

Not a huge fan myself; just bits and pieces, although I have always liked the album A Hundred Million Suns. But it all gets a bit samey after a while. All very intense and full of angst
