OK, it's only April, I know. But their latest I really, really like. This is my fave track at the moment. All of their albums are good but this one is probably their best in a few years, maybe since their debut in 2012. They're from that hotbed of alternative rock, Hampshire

Thought you had mellowed with age .. This does sound like something my kids would listen to - metal something or other. :oo:

I think I've mellowed in the sense that I'm starting to appreciate less, eh, abrasive music. But I haven't dispensed with it altogether There are a number of quieter tracks on the album; there always are with Band of Skulls. They're not metal. I'm not sure how I'd pigeonhole them. Just rock I guess.

I'd put Gary Numan into one or both of those categories and probably Nine Inch Nails. Perhaps even Rammstein. The track isn't completely representative of the album as a whole to be fair. I know you're not keen but this is the track that I first heard by them back in 2012 and I loved it. It's different again and they do combine loud with slow and melodic. The female voice softens things here and there.
