Looks like he's doing a lot of promo at the moment, going by the number of similar threads - and all on his own. What about interviews with Hannah Rickard or both of them ?
Would be nice to hear from her about writing and recording the album ..

Would be nice to hear from her about writing and recording the album .. I think it's probably more about the book and the tour. I did mention somewhere that I wondered what Hannah was thinking of it all. I haven't watched or listened to any of these things. I never did with Quo either. It means having to do daytime TV or radio, which is completely inane. But that's the market they've targeted for a very long time now.

My wife recorded this for me and I also listened to the wave 105 interview on my way home from work and it’s nothing new in what he Is saying really.
The only interesting thing he does keep saying is about the vetting of the questions, he’s flatly refusing to do so. He also says he’s being told not to talk about politics, religion and not to be un-pc. Again he’s refusing to sanitise the conversation.
Is there a PR storm brewing I wonder. 😀😀
Good old Fran 👍

That's interesting - and risky! I can't see religion or politics cropping up but I guess you never know.

Someone might ask his thoughts on Brexit. The answer might fill the rest of the evening as it seemingly is an endless story .

I really should read the book before I go. Get clued up a bit. The official line calls it an " explosive new memoir". Don't you just love marketing rhetoric?

Not much we don't already know (although I haven't finished it yet). A few more of his own thoughts on things. His brief take on the Frantic Four reunion. I want to know about Jeff and Matt leaving....don't know if there is anything about either of these. Although it does say in the prologue at the very beginning that although it will cover Status Quo and his relationship with Rick, it is mainly about Francis Rossi which is fair enough seeing as we've had 2 books about Quo already.

Or rather, Francis and Rick. It would be nice to get some perspective on or by the other members of the band. But because of the way Quo have been promoted since 1986, none of them are marketable and any reference to most of them would leave most readers perplexed or disinterested. Or presumably that's the thinking.

Or presumably that's the thinking. As much as it pains me to say it, Quo were marked like that far earlier than 86, hence the reason the record company didn’t want a Quo with Alan and Rick... where the “money” lay was with the two “popular” faces of Quo (i.e Rick and Francis). The book is pretty good, he’s very honest about Ricky, though not in a sleazy tabloid way, there is definite love between them, but there were obviously times when both Rick and Francis could be a handful to the other.

Totally agree. It was almost always Rick and/or Francis doing the TV or radio thing. I think I only ever saw Alan interviewed with the band twice back then and one of those was on Pebble Mill at One the day of the Charlie gig. It just seemed to become more obvious from '86 onwards with the crossed guitars and all that. A more calculated reference to JUST Francis and Rick.
