Went to see Mr Numan last week and he was superb. He's now 60 by the way! And fit as a flea I hasten to add. For those who are not familiar with his recent output, I won't dwell on it but he did do Are Friends Electric and Down In The Park as homage to the 'olden days' Particularly heavy versions as well. I managed to take a couple of pics with my phone. Just thought I'd share with the 6 people and a dog called Lulu who come on here I've had to reduce the size of the images to get them uploaded so apologies if they've gone a bit pixel happy.

Used to hate him, but then I heard Dead Son Rising. Bought that and the 2 subsequent albums and also now appreciating his early stuff. I find it amazing when suddenly one thing kicks me into rediscovering an artist.

I was never a huge fan in the early to mid 80's; bits and pieces like We Are Glass where I picked up on the use of a guitar! I saw him perform a song called Crazier on TOTP in the early 2000's and loved it. I then checked out the album Hybrid and I was hooked! Back catalogue here I came I managed to find it on You Tube as well. Great stuff. Not the pale faced youth of 1980

Hey Mortified, thanks for that. Now if I'd have heard that back then I might have gotten more into Mr Numan before Dead Son Rising. That is an excellent song.

For those who are not familiar with the man, if I was to try and categorise his music now I'd say 'industrial' is maybe the closest genre. Nine Inch Nails cite him as their biggest influence which is pretty high praise. Like Quo, he has also played Download (or maybe Sonisphere; not 100% sure) and other festivals of that nature. And, like Quo, he just seems to fit in wherever you put him. I have to give credit to my stepdaughter, though, who dragged myself and Mrs Mortified all the way to Newcastle to see him. She was awe-struck because she'd wanted to see him for years
