This will presumably be the last such release. Apart from one or two random releases in the 2000's, Don't Stop was the last album to feature any vinyl singles taken from it. All were picture discs as well. I wonder what 'extras' there will be with this lot. If any....

Actually, I take that back. I see they've included vinyl singles from the Under The Influence album. These never existed. Be interesting to see if they carry on that trend with all the CD singles since.

As it says in the text - This carefully curated release is the fourth in a series of five limited edition Status Quo 7" singles box sets.

I think only 4 vinyl singles were released from 2000 onwards so this is quite interesting. Ta for the heads up

Must've been up to four from QPQ alone if I remember correctly. Last one Better Than That, which made the BBC2 playlist for a few weeks .. Looking Out For Caroline was probably the last virtual one or will the relatively successful acoustic ones (POMM ..) be included as well ? Taking all these into account they actually have a lot to choose from - from the last 'real' singles like You'll Come Round to the newer ones fitting the 'single' description merely loosely. Was The Way It Goes released with that cover ??

Yeah, there are plenty songs that were technically singles but also several tracks that were only digitally released in their own right. Actually, the last box set might turn out to be the most collectable of the lot. The final 'single' from Quid Pro Quo was actually a remixed version (the Podium Mix) of The Winner to coincide with the London Olympics. There were promotional CD's for most of these things (I managed to get hold of about half a dozen) and at least one had exclusive live tracks on it. Live versions of Two Way Traffic and Let's Rock came with the Better Than That CD for example. So we should get a few little 'extras'. For those of us that bother about these things

This song has a habit to get on my nerves really quickly. I don't know what Francis sees in it - IMO it deserved to disappear without a trace, Olympics or not. One of the weakest R/Y tunes. No surprise that so far it hasn't been included in any 8-track either ..

The original is sort of OK but the 'Podium Mix' has a school choir or something singing part of the chorus in the background. Everyone and their granny tried to cash in on the Olympics in London. I'm not sure anyone succeeded. Can't remember.

Received this yesterday, courtesy of UMC.
Have yet to give the vinyl discs a spin on the turntable, but the quality is much better than the earlier releases from this collection series
Will come back when they've been played for an overall review
Cheers

The blurb says 30 November. Keep us posted, mate They get sent out to a handful, possibly a couple more prior to the release so feedback can be given regarding them and they can be reviewed for press releases. The vinyl quality is great, I have to say! Very little noise when being played. Vinyl sleeves are the same they have been for previous single collections, but the scans that have been used for the covers are good. Release date is still Nov. 30th, so for those that like these releases... get it Pre-Ordered Cheers

For those of us that bother about these things The last single in box number 5 is In The Army Now 2010, so unfortunately we don't get anything from Quid Pro Quo onwards, trick missed as they say.
