I haven't seen Maiden since 1981 :oo: I only ever saw them twice. The first was supporting Judas Priest WAY back! I think Paul Di'anno might have been the chanter both times. Can't actually remember. I was never a huge fan but world domination beckoned after I'd dismissed them. Happens a lot that

I've never really got into Maiden, like some of their stuff but never seen them live.

The only other rock bands I've liked beside Quo are Deep Purple and Uriah Heep. I'm limited that way and obviously stuck in the 70s. Maiden does nothing for me. Same goes for Simple Minds - too 80s for me - but my loss. Glad you can enjoy both.

I know a lot of their early stuff from my school days, but I now only own a "hits" album.
I haven't seen them live but that's my loss not theirs.
Glad you had a great time.

Well, we as Quo fans should know all about prejudices .. If you'd recommend a song or two, I'd check them out on yt .

Saw them at the o2 last year and was very disappointed. The show looked great, but the sound was awful. Couldn't hear anything of what Bruce was singing because of the mix.

Got a little into Heep with the Wake the Sleeper album (bloody brilliant) and then the Outsider album, but some of their earlier stuff I struggle with. I'm not huge on Maiden, but Number of the Beast is amazing and Book of Souls is wonderful. Being Scottish I guess it might be a prerequisite to like to Simple Minds, but they are one of my favourite bands ever.

Its superb. Promised You A Miracle features K.T. Tunstall and is amazing. Way better then the original I think. I was never a huge Simple Minds fan either. Bits and pieces, mainly from the mid 80's like Once Upon A Time, although I've always loved the track New Gold Dream (81-82-83-84). Years ahead of it's time that one.

It's how I check out records these days .. No more browsing through vinyls in record stores. I think there aren't even facilities to do that nowadays - or rather it would have to be to test listen to CDs for me now.

Hope you like it There's a really good short film on after the video about the acoustic project of you have time to watch it.

It's not that I don't like it and the chorus sticks with you, but it does nothing for me. New (to me) music so rarely does these days ..

Used to listen to them a LOT, but not so often nowadays. I've seen them quite a few times, first time in october 1980 when they where a support act to Kiss, last time when they recreated the Powerslave tour (I can't remember which year this was though). (I saw the Spitfire they have on stage this tour on a Youtube clip, it looked amazing!)
