I'll be honest and say it doesn't hold much appeal for me. I like Aquostic but this doesn't grab me. The setlist caught my eye though: 1. And It's Better Now 2. Break The Rules 3. Again And Again 4. Paper Plane 5. Rock āNā Roll 6. Caroline 7. Hold You Back 8. That's A Fact 9. Down Down 10. Pictures Of Matchstick Men 11. Rollin' Home 12. Band Introductions 13. Don't Drive My Car 14. Reason For Living 15. Claudie 16. Rain 17. Marguerita Time 18. Na Na Na 19. Whatever You Want 20. Rockin' All Over The World 21. Burning Bridges It's very different from the electric set, why can't they just do a fusion of them both?

My immediate reaction is strangely and annoyingly observant. The set list does not include Lies, a song I saw them play in Barcelona last year and which went down really well. They must have dropped it or it simply isn't included on the release. Anyway, as for the album itself, its a surprising one more than a year after the event. If the Wacken thing is true, then we'd have a double album featuring both electric and acoustic tracks, although the Wacken set will obviously be bog standard festival fare. But I can see the appeal in releasing this sort of thing. Hopefully they're working behind the scenes here and there on new material. We haven't had any 'new' tracks since 2014 ( Bula Quo) other than the three that pitched up on Aquostic II. And one of those I think was to become a Francis solo song. But I have to be honest; 4 years between studio albums of new material is nothing these days. Check out any established bands of any longevity and you'll see what I mean. This doesn't sound like something I'd play endlessly because its yet another live album. If I counted the live releases since 2008, I reckon there have been over 40 of them. Although I haven't done it properly. But you can see why your average Quo nut might just stick it on the shelf for posterity. Its an average of over 4 a year. But it is what it is and live albums must be so much cheaper to release than anything from the studio. And, by the way, after all that, I'll buy it. As many versions as I can get my hands on It's what I do

The acoustic part does sound interesting, especially since we didn't get to hear this set live. And funnily with the acoustic stuff I prefer live over studio. Maybe it would be the same with electric albums, only they never get a chance to shine live .. I'll wait for the special edition including Lies though, thanks for the warning, mortified. And I don't need Wacken, but nice choice of album titles indeed.

So do we think it will be two individual albums to purchase separately?
Or a double?

I can see them putting together a package (or two) that makes available both albums. We do tend to get 'limited edition' this and 'deluxe' that. Along with coloured vinyl and earbooks etc. That's certainly been the way of late.
Just have to wait and see I guess.
I assume they didn't play Lies at the Albert Hall for some reason.

Thanks @inna . Maybe it was rubbish so they decided not to put it on the album. Its just that its one of those great songs that you never get to hear live, despite the fact that it was a big hit. It might be on the 'vinyl only' editions. Music companies have a tendency to do sneaky things like that nowadays to get you to spend more of your hard earned. Or in my case more of my not earned at all really

Can't stand the titles or the artwork... very poorly done job for whoever they paid to do the artwork design.

Got to say I didn't take it serious and thought it was just a provisional replacement for the real cover. mortified - I love the song too ! That's why I'll wait for an edition that contains it ..

Yeah, I suppose Albert Hall and longhorn shaped pieces of denim are a wee bit hackneyed and predictable. The Wacken album is available to pre-order on the Canadian iTunes site for some reason. It shows a better view of the artwork and gives a track listing (usual festival fare). There's nothing on UK iTunes yet for either release. The titles I don't mind. Including a well known hit single in each title isn't the daftest idea if they're going to end up in Tesco or Asda

Well yes. Considering the release is on the matter of a month and so many days away, the release should be finalised now. The artwork is normally one of the first things to be done. in the last month or so it's mainly sorting out any typo's etc

This reminds me of the two Deep Purple live albums "From the Rising Sun... " (Tokyo) "...to the Setting Sun" (Wacken). Similar concept.

Glad that you finished my train of thought I do know that Quo's stuff gets released on edel records / earmusic here but I thought they had their own label too. But seemingly edel have taken over. A bit sad, since they're a piece of ****

statusquo.tmstor.es/Got an e-mail with the official link this morning. As we thought, plenty of editions. One noticeable thing is that there is a DVD of the Wacken set but not the Albert Hall gig. I'd have preferred it the other way round if anything but I dare say the Wacken Festival was covered on German TV. No track listing but that's available elsewhere. Although I'd have thought a track listing would have been essential on an official store offering the product. Small criticism only though.

Still, like Billy what I'd like the most would be a video from the Albert Hall. Does it even exist ? Wacken is only of interest for non-fans and collectors as everybody else already has that set in numerous shapes and forms and doesn't need another.

We're probably only getting the Wacken Blu-Ray because there was already full footage of the event. Similar to why we kept getting Montreux stuff and why we got the Roundhouse gig. Other broadcaster's facilities. I don't know if they filmed the Albert Hall gig. It would appear not as things stand.

They could have packaged the DVD of the earlier RAH gig (still with Rick, from the 1st tour) with the live album though.
And what's this nonsense with vinyl-exclusive tracks about, again?!

And what's this nonsense with vinyl-exclusive tracks about, again?!I haven't seen that. I can't find any online where all tracks on all formats are actually listed. Seems to be a pattern with vinyl though. Although, conversely, Andy Bown's solo version of Another Shipwreck was on the CD release of Status Quo Collected and not on the vinyl. But its obviously to get the 'collector' to buy multiple formats. Naughty but not unusual.
