Nice Clip of the band, funny how Rick was not very well after this and then his collapse at the next gig, but they are still playing very well....

That actually warmed up to something decent in the latter stages but I still think the present band should stick to stuff from late 80s on instead of continuously living of the era of the great Status Quo line up

That actually warmed up to something decent in the latter stages but I still think the present band should stick to stuff from late 80s on instead of continuously living of the era of the great Status Quo line up Francis wrote the song - generally speaking the band has always 'lived of' his songwriting talents, no matter the line-up. They're professional musicians, so they live of music and Francis has always been the most important songwriter. And better they live of their own stuff than anybody else's. He can play whichever song he wrote whenever he wants to. Has anybody ever accused John of living of Francis' output ? I may not like them doing too much of the old tunes, but no one has more right to play them than the guy who wrote the tunes. And I actually happen to believe had the line-up then been the same as today (I know, not possible) they'd have recorded it just the same and it would've been a hit, exactly as it had been. It's just the quality of song that made it a hit, not the personnel involved. Having said that, I'd not mind the band giving it a rest. They've got more than enough great songs to choose from and it puts a lot of strain on Francis' voice as he's barely able to reach the high notes these days. The most urgent thing the band needs to do is split the hits package at the end of the set and put them elsewhere - or better still, take most of them out and merely leave in the two biggest hits - RAOTW and ITAN.

It's only because most people are too busy Francis bashing that there is no time left to go John bashing as well.

Talking about Down Down in general: On our drive back home yesterday we had the radio off for most of the time. Once though hubby switched it on for the news and traffic report - and the first song afterwards was DD and nearly played in full too. Guess who turned the volume up ?
