Now , unless he played the wrong version, Halloween which was aired on the radio show Assume the Position the other night has just had a slight remix i.e hardly any difference to the version released in 1988
The vocals are exactly the same to my ear.
Which warrants the question: what was the point ?

I didn't hear it, Cammy.
I did wonder when I saw the track listing if Halloween was the original composition and, if so, if it had been re-recorded. If not, it does seem a little pointless. Different if it hadn't been released under the Quo banner and remained languishing on Recorded Delivery.
He/they have re-recorded Without You as far as I can tell so who knows?

They might have had to "recycle" it due to lack of new material and wanting to put out a full cd rather than just an EP.

Thanks @inna.
It's definitely the same version although it sounds cleaner. I'm not sure if I've ever listened to the remaster so it might resemble that.
Rick's voice is way too strong and he's hitting the high notes too easily for it to have been sung by him, say, in 2016. But I must admit, it was good to hear it again. Been ages since I listened to it. And it doesn't sound too dated so they've done a good knob twiddling job on it.

Mr. Porter requested the Recorded Delivery tapes a while back from what I know so who knows, they could be remixing the whole thing... pointless just to remix one of the tracks.

Would've been my guess too The way it seems to be made up of older songs, songs not written by Rick .. they obviously didn't have the material for a whole album. Not surprised actually - Rick didn't exactly have a lot of time for it, if he hadn't already worked on a solo album prior to that fatal heart attack. Francis did mention in an interview years ago, that Rick would love to have his own solo album too, with everybody else having at least one.
