Pat Marks has the RTYD event down as one of his favourite Quo experiences - I've recently reread his blog. And while I don't understand half of his techy speak - what are parcans e.g. ? - it's still very enjoyable to read about his life on the road with 'The Turn' . Will probably have seen this before, will watch it later (again ?).

Yep, I assumed they were lights, the way he talked about them, but obviously there's all kinds, some moveable, some not. Anyway it's so funny to read what could (and did) go wrong at summer festivals from the lighting designer's POV, when he had to make do with whatever stuff was provided there - as opposed to his own rig and desk.

Is this the documentary that was released as part of a double video back in 1991? I haven't seen it probably since then but some of it seems familiar from the little I've watched here.

A shame most of the tracks are either ruined by Chris Tarrant or the Penguin Crew. The 2nd video covered the press event at Northolt Airfield in the July of 1991 and Quo miming to Rockin' All Over The World, Pat Marks talking about doing the lights for each show with Paper Plane from the Sheffield gig playing over the top of it, Tonto talking about the gear, Jed Hughes talking about the travel arrangements, then some talk about how the gigs were filmed only to top it off with the Can't Give You More Promo (shown twice on the tape) and different to the final promo video. Wish they would just release a box set of all 4 gigs and behinds the scenes / rehearsals for the event. They hold a world record for doing 4 gigs / UK Tour in under 12 hours, why wouldn't they want to celebrate it? I personally think it was the best period of that line-up

Comes flooding back now. They are always touting that achievement in the official stats that get wheeled out every twenty minutes so releasing it on DVD you would think would be a good move. Although I don't know how many people would have to be consulted about that. Everyone that was in it I suppose - plus a big, fat fee for Chris Tarrant. Who I actually like as a rule. But yeah, I'd watch all that again. The gigs themselves were short but very sweet.

I did this mock up not too long ago, 2 out of 4 setlists are correct (Glasgow and Birmingham) as the setlists are visible in the Documentary, however they did start the sets at Sheffield and Wembley with Whatever You Want

If it's was mainly just Quo arriving at the venue, the concert and then leaving, Tarrant wouldn't need too big of a fee, whereas the original documentary he would've been paid quite a bit down to his appearance and voice over work. Just the songs and setlists / performances intact would do me perfectly, I don't need to know if the Support Team are leaving Get rid of the Penguin Crew full stop because from what I've heard they were just put together for the documentary...
