I wondered if that would happen. The "Rewind" thing is very popular and it's been at Scone Palace for a few years now. I'm told it rains. Always. I don't like the thought of having to stand through the likes of Heaven 17 or Wendy James till Quo come on though. I'll have a think. Saw Quo at Scone Palace a few years ago. Nice location. But I'm really not sure "Rewind" is for me.

Scone Palace isn't that far away from me but I'm not sure if I'll go.
Some of the artists (most of them in fact) I wasn't that keen on back in the day and I'm probably less keen now.
If Quo were to be on first then I'd definitely attend but they'll won't be, will they?

They are by far the most popular act to play at this "Rewind" festival. In fact, probably any "Rewind" festival. No one else comes close. Had it been 1983, maybe, but even then, looking at most of the acts involved.... It's 22nd July by the way, not June as suggested by Cammy. A wee typo there. I'll chin Mrs Mortified about it because she's the driver but I can already picture the look on her face

I'd be the designated driver too and as I'd need a good drink to get me through that bill, I don't think I'll be going

OK, you can look forward to this lot the day Quo are on: Bonnie Tyler Midge Ure Heaven 17 Imagination A Flock Of Seagulls Wendy James Hue & Cry Boomtown Rats The Selecter I'm afraid you'll miss Tiffany and OMD. They're on the Saturday (lol). I'm not sure if they're all on the one stage. I think so. Two tier and early bird tickets, whatever they are, are sold out already. There are two types left; 3 tier and 4 tier. I have no idea what these are but the 3 tier are nearly gone as well. I suspect these are basically rubbish tickets although I didn't think the venue would be split. Not for a festival. But what do I know? So there you are. Look out your "Frankie Says" cap sleeve t-shirts and head on down.

mortified, as the kids say, thanks for the heads up.
Nothing really there for me unfortunately.
From Big Hair (Bonnie, A Flock of Seagulls) to No Hair (Midge, Hue and Cry).
To be fair, there are one or two singles from those listed that I thought half decent but I don't think I could sit/stand a whole set from them waiting for Quo to come on.

And I was right. Mrs Mortified just glared at me and walked out the room as if I'd said her hair was a mess. Sis said that the line up was - and I quote - hellish So I suspect we'll be staying in that day. I was hoping it was going to be the day of the World Cup Final but that's the week before. Just looking for a half decent excuse. To be fair, the "Rewind" south line up I might have made an effort for. There are acts on there that I really liked in the 80's that I've never seen. Thompson Twins, Kim Wilde (missed her supporting Quo; we were in La Booza), Paul Carrack, Nik Kershaw, Howard Jones, Roachford. I dare say it'll all be good fun. Incidentally, I am reliably informed that "early bird" tickets are those that went on sale before the line up was known. A la Glastonbury. The rest are released gradually as the line ups are announced. It's still a free for all when you go in but on the Sunday there are already hundreds of people there that have been on site all weekend. So you can forget rushing down the front to see Gypsy Kings

I went to Rewind South last year, purely to see the Quo. They came on at around 9pm and played for an hour in the rain. The rest of the day really isn't worth the entrance money - a convoy of '80s one hit wonders wheeled out in front of a house band to embarrass themselves one last time. But the organisation and facilities on the day were excellent, so if the weather is good in Scotland my advice would be to arrive early evening, have a drink, and laugh at what the audience is wearing !

....a convoy of '80s one hit wonders wheeled out in front of a house band.... Yeah, there are one or two like that by the looks. Wendy James and Chesney Hawkes perhaps being prime examples.
