"Testament of a rock legend" it says. And with these last two 'extracts', I believe it! Sounds good. No, actually, sounds great

Those two sound bites sound extremely tantalising! I can't wait to hear the album when it comes out. The sad thing is, it will likely be the last ever thing we hear Rick Parfitt singing and playing on... So enjoy it folks.
One thing going through my mind is that, if as Francis has said, Rick had cognitive problems following his heart attack, and that Rick "wasn't the Rick Parfitt he knew", did he make a remarkable recovery in the period leading up to his final hospitalisation? His voice on those two short clips sounded really good - is it as naturally recorded, or has auototune or some voice enhancing software been used?
Either way, I really am looking forward to hearing what Rick was working on post-Quo.

Rick at his best. His posthumous album is a gift no-one could even dream of when he died, or in the months after when we were hoping for a concert in his memory, or at least something tangible to remember him by. I have such mixed feelings about 18th March, I'm really looking forward to hearing the music that Rick wanted to play, without having to fit in with Quo, but there's a finality about it that makes me so sad.
I wonder what happened to his necklace, presumably it was taken off when he was in hospital?

I'm not quite sure what some of these snippets of tracks are called and it looks like they're up on a Swedish "Facebook" page. But they all sound incredibly good! I know it's too early to tell but this stuff sounds as good as anything Quo have recorded in recent years. And their stuff's also been good! We'll never get to see or hear Rick play this material live but I hope someone goes out on the road and does it. By the sound of it, I'd travel a long way to witness it. Nice shirt by the way

Trying not to click on the links!!
Ideally, I'd like to wait and hear the songs in all their entirety when I get the album. In that way, every song is fresh and new.
Encouraged by the above comments though.

Encouraged by the above comments though. To be fair, they are VERY short snippets. Only around 20 seconds or so but they give you a flavour of the style. And it's only about 2 or 3 songs. I'd normally not listen either; I certainly tried to avoid it with Quo albums. But for some reason I couldn't resist with these

I'm not quite sure what some of these snippets of tracks are called and it looks like they're up on a Swedish "Facebook" page. (...) www.facebook.com/OfficialRickParfitt/"This is the address to official Rick Parfitt facebook page. The page will be managed and updated by Rick´s record label, his Estate and family members. Here you will find news about Rick's album "Over and Out" as well as information about future initiatives related to his music and his Legacy. Rick´s album "Over and Out" will be released in March 2018 and it is a real testament of a Rock legend. Check the page every now and then to discover more images and sounds from the album. Please feel free to share your memories about Rick on this page." (Status Quo, the official site) Nice site that and 7000+ followers - if they're all going to buy the album it'll be a success I won't be listening to any further short song snippets though. I'll rather wait for whole songs ..

This may sound like a daft question, but where do I go to online to order the box set, other than bloody facebook? I detest that site, but want to order the set as soon as! Is it available from the Official Quo site? I haven't time to look at the moment as I'm up to my neck at work! Many Thanks in advance!

I'd be happy if it made the top 75 but I am not holding my breath I actually expect it to do a lot better than merely top 75. With the various mbs and fb groups - if only 1/3 or 1/4 are going to buy it, that should amount to 3 to 4k at least. I could be completely wrong though .. How many do you need to sell to make the top 20 these days ?

How many do you need to sell to make the top 20 these days ? With albums I'm not sure. The download chart is all important these days with individual tracks being sold and I get the impression your average old aged Quo fan is more interested in a physical product. The bottom line is, I think there is quite an interest and these snippets from "Facebook" or wherever are the best way to market the fact that it's coming out. For the moment anyway. To be honest, I haven't kept an eye on any chart for a long time other than a quick look on iTunes to see what's out there. I think the days of chart position as a marketing or promotional tool are probably gone.

But it has me baffled how good his voice sounds in those snippets we have got from his upcoming album. I have absolutely no idea if any voice enhancing software has been used or if it's really Rick singing "naturally". I've been wondering that, too... In the snippets, I heard what I call Rick's " '80s" voice.... More mature than his '70s voice, but long before it dropped in pitch and started breaking up after his throat surgery. Is this an indication of voice enhancing software used in production, or was the vocal recorded long ago and cleaned up?

I'd expect the album to make top20. I recently bought the new Magnum album which got as high as 7 in the midweek chart but ended up being no12 I think. (don't quote me on it, around there somewhere) 😊 I'd expect Rick's to perform as well as that or pretty close. Magnum while reasonably popular aren't exactly mainstream.
