Legends never die, they fade from view but stay in the heart forever.

This time last year I was in a really good Christmas mood and getting ready to have a couple of pre Christmas dinner time drinks with a few friends in a local pub, not knowing a few hours later my Christmas was going to be turned on its head.

I’m just raising a glass to the legend that was Rick Parfitt.
Can’t believe how quick that year went.

Pretty much a year to the hour we found out. Can't remember the exact time but it was the afternoon and it wasn't that late. It was still light. This is Scotland. It gets dark about half past three. So I have a glass of red in my hand. Here's to Rick. And here's to the loved ones he left behind. Nothing would ever be the same again.

Just had a look back. 3:18pm when I first posted it on here, it’d literally just flashed up on FB. I remember I had to go out, take the dogs for a walk, shed a few tears. Not sure what else to say tbh.

This year has gone so quickly, it's unreal... This time last year, for me, Status Quo ceased to exist. Francis Rossi may have been the consummate frontman, but Rick Parfitt supplied THE drive and energy to the sound. As I've said elsewhere, that is no disrespect whatsoever to the current incarnation of the Band, but I went to Quo shows to hear and see my guitar hero play. I can no longer do that, and nothing can replace the void which now exists. I have many, many happy memories of the Band which made me who I am today.
R.I.P. Mr Parfitt - Your talent and input into the music of Status Quo will never be forgotten by those who appreciate REAL music.
Rick Roper.
