Thought I'd resurrect this thread as I saw the Film "Still Crazy" the other night and its started me listening to Mr Nail again. Still Crazy is a good film if you haven't seen it, even Quo get a mention in it.

I'd love to know why "Insider" has the assumption that they fell out.
It was never over money or Queen being "bigger" than Quo... what a crock of sh*te, especially when at the time Queen were on their way out of being a live act. If you're going to post sh*te, then at least make it believable.
Rick had pretty much been broke since the early 80s due to his divorce from Marietta... that was nothing new by 1985. However, the band being fleeced of the money they earned during the EOTR tour certainly didn't help.
Alan was helping him out with his living situation at the time, which is why Alan felt so stabbed in the back when Rick ditched him to rejoin Quo.
Rick did bits on Rogers Solo album, and I can guarantee that it was probably Rogers idea for Quo to support Queen on their last tour.
They will have separated ways again once Quo became a full time working band, doing the usual Album / Tour / Album etc... and Roger will have been busy with his own things.
Far from falling out...

One query on what you are saying, wasn’t Al living in Australia at this point so how could he be helping Rick out ?

Late 84/85 he was in the UK as the band were in the studio putting down the groundwork for a new Quo album.

Rick did bits on Rogers Solo album.... Yeah, there's a track from that which apparently features Rick called It's An Illusion. He gets a writing credit for it as well. No doubt he contributed more.

Here's an obscure triv question...
Regarding this Tony McAnaney chap, does anyone remember the act who released one of his songs "I Do", which i am pretty sure pre-dated Quo's 1994 B-side "And I Do" (same song)? If i remember rightly, they were a sort of country and western duo around in the 90's, possibly from the NE of England...
Either that or they covered it after Quo released it.
I won't hold my breath!

Doesn't ring any bells. I'm not big on NE country acts I think Tony McAnaney's main claim to fame has always been Crocodile Shoes and appearances as a character in Spender. But he did seem to get hitched up with Quo - or Francis at least - in the mid 90's. Hence his contributions to the odd Quo track and Francis's solo album. But if you find the answer to your own query, let us know. There are one or two completists out there

I remember reading it was covered but I can’t remember who by.
In my mind they were Canadian?
I’ve got no basis for that though !!!

The Grants did „I do“ and they were from Holland. The album was produced by Pip Williams and Francis and Andy played on a couple of tracks during Frame‘s tax year in Amsterdam. www.45worlds.com/cdalbum/cd/dncd1601
