Just received an e-mail that Baden-Baden has been cancelled as well. Tickets have to be returned to place of purchase, as there won't be a later date to make up for it. It's nobody's fault and I'm wishing Francis a speedy recovery, but I had been so looking forward to it. #notahappybunny

That's a shame. I did have my doubts that he could clear up a chest infection that quickly. Most of us would be off work for a fortnight! Not having a good year, are they? Not a good couple of years.

Thanks guys I've been checking the other venues in the south - Stuttgart on 15th would be an option, although - will Francis be fit again that quickly ? It's nearly sold out and no good tickets available any more, naturally, but still better than not seeing them at on this tour at all. And then there's Nürnberg on the 21st - a lot further away though. We'll have to talk it through .. Hope your gig next week goes ahead as planned, Inna To put it into perspective though: It's the first time ever we've got to deal with a gig cancellation. Usually they did Germany first and then the UK - and while they were still fit and healthy here, the cancellations used to hit the UK. So probably not really a surprise it's the other way round this time. Stresses again why priorities should be on summer gigs and no more winter tours from now on. Francis (or Andy or Rhino) isn't getting any younger exactly.

Last winter we went all the way to Paris not to see Status Quo! At least I got to see Paris for the first time.

Oi yes, I remember .. Hope you at least enjoyed Paris, although, I've got to admit there are lots of places I'd rather be in winter.

Just a quick update guys - all is not bad (so far): As the Quo gig last night was cancelled, we were able to go to our chamber music concert - it was Kit Armstrong on piano plus a string quartet plus a clarinet player. And I've got to say, it was quite nice, despite them having to improvise with the 'set' as part of the musicians got grounded at Heathrow, so didn't arrive in time and the premiere of Kit's own piece had to be cancelled in favour of more Mozart in consequence. When we got home I checked for free seats at Quo's very last acoustic gig in Nürnberg on 21th (Francis should be fit by then, I reckoned) and booked two seats. And a hotel room right beside the venue. OK, it's not second row as Baden-Baden would've been, but 10th row and a bit to the side, but I do consider them half-decent. I've got family there whom we'll visit and then there's the famous Christmas market, so we're going to make the most of the situation. Obviously Nürnberg didn't sell quite as well as the other venues, which in this case suits me just fine . Got to say too, that ticket prices are way over the top for this acoustic tour though. Usually it has been 50-60€ for standing with the price up to 60+ last year. That's about the cheapest acoustic ticket you get for a seat way at the back this year. Baden-Baden would've been 138€ (!) and Nürnberg is still 95€. That may explain a few empty seats and I doubt many of the usual Quo crowd can afford it. I expect to see a very different audience .. At least we won't have to do anything about the B.-B. tickets. Received two e-mails already: The money will be sent back asap.

Good to read that snakelady.
Hope all goes according to plan and that you enjoy the concert.
I'm sure that you will.

So no gig for us this winter .. You can't say we didn't try That Hamburg gig on the 21st, the date that had been previously scheduled for Nürnberg is still up on the homepage. I've been wondering if maybe they intended to record it on the 19th and now have moved it to the last possible date before Christmas for that purpose and in the hope Francis will be up for it by then ? Merely speculating of course and you can't get tickets for the date ..
