He needs a padded cell along with a framed photo of Rossi You’re not gonna like this but I think you’re two peas in a pod. I reckon you’d get on in ‘real life’. You’re both passionate and dare I say it ‘blinkered’ when it comes to your views. Passion ain’t ever a bad thing though. Its a fair point Bam, I gotta say that much, except I would state that imvho NEITHER Viking or myself are blinkered, we just stick rigidly to our personal beliefs, and it makes for some very good banter between the two of us on here, (no doubt to the amusement of many on here)

" Sorry, Ive, but you've got to be really blinkered to consider LR a good rock song and the last REAL one at that." Tut-tut, snakelady . No, it may not be "the last real Quo song", but I think it's a great little tune anyway. It rocks, the riffs sound great, it puts a smile on your face, so let's forget about the lyrics... It sounded fantastic live and got the crowd going way back when. Love this video clip here for various reasons even if it was a very rainy day: Hey, don't you interfere with my winding up Ive Let's Rock was Ok live, but I'll freely admit that lyrics do matter to me. Causes problems for me with a number of Rick's songs (i.e. Reality Cheque), but at least he was aware that they weren't his strong point. And to answer your question, @irp , according to your own definition of Quo (Rick+Francis) the last REAL Quo songs have been the three new ones from A2: One For The Road One Of Everything Is Someone Rocking Your Heart? Lyrics are always second to me, as long as the riff/music is good that's what matters, if you get good lyrics also then that's a bonus

I was at that Gelsenkirchen gig. It was really refreshing with the new songs in the set for the very first time. All of them good as well. I was frantically texting after the gig to a message boarder letting him know what was in the set and he was posting up on the old message board as he got it. I also love that venue. Second time I'd been there. One of my favourites.

Twice I've been to the Gelsenkirchen gig and twice it's pi$$ed down. The first time was in June 2000 and there were massive thunderstorms.
But I do remember that, compared to at home, when it was raining it was pretty warm. Nice and sheltered down the front though with the stage overhanging the standing area.

The three new songs they played that night were met with a lot of enthusiasm. And let's not forget Living On An Island that night... Great venue, great location, great scenery, especially by day. Here it is in all its glory: I like that bridge ! Got to pass that pic on to my architecture student son

I was there as well in 2000 2nd Quo gig I had ever been too, thoroughly enjoyed myself even if the coach driver got completely lost on the way to the hotel the day before. Great gig and didn't mind getting wet all part of the fun.

Definitely warmer and less wet here, most of the time .. . And to return to the topic title - are there unreal Quo songs too ? Maybe the correct title should've been the last new Quo song you liked - or the last Rick song you liked. In my case both would've been from Bula Quo. I like all songs from that album (minus Mystery Island, naturally). So I'd go with the already by mortified mentioned Fiji Time or in terms of Rick song GoGoGo (minus the RAOTW ending).

I've always just tended to go to where it's easiest to get to in terms of direct flights from Edinburgh. Although Gelsenkirchen was a challenge each time after flying into Dusseldorf. I think my European Quo excursions are probably at an end but I suppose you never say never say never say....

What did you learn at school .. geography lessons restricted to the UK ? ..and admit it - you now regret you don't have tickets for this side of the Channel as opposed to your electric variety

I dropped it fairly swiftly Which is a pity because I find it an interesting subject. Geography in general that is. But what they taught here (maybe still do?) was dull and, to me, largely irrelevant. This was the late 60's early 70's though. I think most teachers were on LSD

All this talk of "real" songs, "real" Quo fans etc is a nonsense. I think people use these tags in an effort to appear superior and I think they fail miserably.
"The last Quo song that you liked" has a much better ring to it in my opinion.
Bula Quo was a dreadful film (imvho) but it spawned a very decent album.
If there is to be a new album from the current line up sometime in the next year or so and it continued in that vein, then I'd be happy with that.

From a very good modern Quo album. Rock n roll n You was a good old fashioned Quo track to my ears, bit of a 70s feel to it.
