Voting against an album containing Backwater and Slow Train feels wrong but I had to vote for On The Level.
Have mentioned my love for 'Over and Done' and 'What to Do' elsewhere recently.
The opening trio are all very strong and it feels daft in some ways but I largely take Down Down for granted, of course that is wrong of me. Yes it's arguably over exposed and done to death but there is a reason for that, the reason being it's epic. If ever a song made you feel like it was sticking two fingers up at the world it's this one. Also, it's an absolute joy to play on guitar, that Open G tuning once again sucking me in.
It also contains BBJ and therefore some Chuck. Chuck being the daddy when it comes to Rock N Roll, and Quo being the daddy in terms of playing it, I just have to love it.
I could happily listen to the majority of both albums, (JTM and Drifting Away aside) but I'm happy with my choice.

Not easy to decide, but going by the state the gatefold sleeve is in, I should probably vote for On the Level. What a great way to decide. Never thought of that! My original Quo sleeve is tattered and torn. I should've just said that

On the level for me. Quo's greatest & most balanced studio album ever!
