Just got an email from songkick saying they are stopping after 10 years. Despite what they say about our tickets are ok, something like this never fills me with confidence.

Yeah, I got an e-mail about the Newcastle gig saying that we've to pick the tickets up at the venue on the day. No word yet on the Cardiff gig. Flights and hotel booked for that one so it would be good to hear. They are effectively only the ticket handling agency so there shouldn't be any fall-out. He announced more in hope than expectation

I don't want to collect them from the box office after the doors open....it'll be chaos!! You'll have to get in one queue to get your tickets and then another to get into the venue!

Just received an e-mail about the Cardiff tickets saying they'll be sent out. Not sure why they'd be different but we'll see how it pans out.

Songkick email said tickets would be posted by venue. Still waiting for Glasgow tickets - starting to worry.
Anyone else in this situation?

Our Cardiff tickets arrived last week and those for Newcastle we've to pick up at the venue. Not ideal but I've kept the e-mail so I have the precise instructions about ID and all that malarkey.
My sister's Glasgow tickets arrived about 2 days after she ordered them but I don't think she went through Songkick. She did it about a week later after the fan club seats being offered were so poor. She was right. She got better tickets.

I know, we've talked about this before, but I just don't get this system, where you pay for something but only receive the goods you paid for months later. You'd not accept it when you buy something in a shop either, so why online ? If you'd receive the tickets straight after payment (as you do here), it wouldn't matter if the company went bust latter. I once ordered and paid for tickets from a British ticket agency, only to never receive any tickets and then end up in the last row. Never again !

I read somewhere quite a while back that it was a cost saving exercise of some sort. Tickets are not printed until late in case of cancellation. Because, of course, online ticketing agencies struggle to make ends meet The cost of printing would obviously bankrupt them But, you're right; any tickets I've bought for European gigs have arrived quickly. In fact, when they're from Switzerland, they practically fall through the door as you click the payment button! And digital tickets would solve everything. Pass the printing on to the customer and they'd have their tickets immediately. That was becoming fashionable but it seems to have almost disappeared. Haven't seen it for a while for UK gigs.

Indeed digital tickets should always be an option - and thankfully we still have that option here for most everything. That cost saving line sounds like nonsense to me. Probably more to do with shifting any possible problems, proof you've ordered, paid, .. to the customer. Why that would be necessary in the first place though, remains a mystery to me.

I always go for the digital option if it’s available but it still annoys the hell out of me that they still charge me a fee for using my own printer

They will dream up some admin charge reason. I always try and buy directly from my local venue wherever possible to avoid those bandits Ticketmaster and their ridiculous charges. Another scam is the pre sale. Ticketmaster use it as a scam to rush you into taking the rubbish seats, whilst meantime holding onto the best seats and selling them as Platinum for a premium. The old system of queuing was much better. Happy memories of queuing at Hammy Odeon overnight for the 84 tour

I'd call that daylight robbery and got to admit I'm surprised they're allowed to do it. I doubt ticket agencies would get away with it here. Surely someone would take them to court. On the other hand, we never used to have that golden circle stuff, but it was introduced last year for the LNOTE tour. Probably a development that is only natural, sadly. After all we've always had price categories at classical concerts - the better your seats, the more you pay ..

Still waiting for Bournemouth tickets. Email to AEG got me an auto reply adding my request to the system. Found out from Bournemouth that tickets are being handled by a sub of AEG called AXS. Email to them had a similar result but with the addition of ' will take 10 days for a reply ( gigs before that ). Rang the provided number and listened to a message then a looped recording of a dial tone for ten minutes ( suspect looped recording as it stuttered at the same place every couple of seconds. Getting really frustrated.
Update for others waiting - our tickets arrived this afternoon. Nice to get them but communications could have been a lot better with the providers. If you need to get in touch with them, tickets are from AXS - 0203 481 5506

This is all beginning to sound a bit shambolic. And inconsistent. There are obviously different arrangements for different venues. Good luck, people!

The auto-reply would suggest you're not the only one not quite happy with their customers service. Hope you'll get your tickets in time. Only idea I'd have is a mail to Quo's management to make them aware of the shambles

Bizarrely, I've had an e-mail from "Songkick" this morning telling me they've set up an alert for one of my favourite artists, Status Quo. Pardon? They also say that they are now part of the Warner Music Company and are looking forward to being "awesome" for me. Well, not actually sending me my tickets when I've paid for postage over and above is a little less than awesome. So do they exist or don't they?
