Presumably the stage is somewhere round the back. Via the tradesman's entrance

That's great to hear ! (I had you down as from up north due to your mb name and didn't expect anyone from on here to go ). Lots of great photos from the gig - you may find yourself in one of them : link

In one of the gig reports - not sure if it was from Wacken or Schwetzingen ? - I've seen Quo labelled as 'the 80s band' which I found quite interesting. I'd never consider Quo an 80s band, rather the opposite, but obviously there's a generation of fans out there, who became fans through ITAN. That song is still massive in Germany and elsewhere on the continent and a remark like that makes it obvious why it can't be dropped from the set. I may not have liked Quo's 80s music, but it sold and charted well.
Quo are different things to different factions of fans, obviously ..

Only been into Quo since 1976 but I love In The Army Now, really love it.
I know they got a lot of fans off the back of that record and hence the label of them being an "80's band."
Don't care for the re-recorded version from a few years back but I adore that song, especially live.
I'll go and try and find my tin hat............

I really liked In The Army Now when I first heard it. I thought it was really different for the band and had a great melody. And, unlike the re-recorded version, very good lyrics that mirrored my own views on these things. I'm fed up with it now but I appreciate it's significance in Quo's overall career. It was a huge hit. Of course, never thought of Quo as "an 80's band" but I guess they were. Also a 60's and 70's band if we're being accurate. And although the 90's and the new millennium were a bit less successful, you cannot ignore the huge successes of Don't Stop and Aquostic Stripped Bare. Quite literally a band for all ages. I'm chuffed they're going down well. I hope that continues, I genuinely do.

So tell me. Mainly because I can be geographically challenged. We went to see Quo in Dornbirn in 2008. Which is in Austria. I thought that Lake Constance was in that neck of the woods. I'm sure I could see it from the top of a mountain. And didn't Rick take a boat out or something? So is this the same Lake Constance or am I talking complete rubbish? Don't worry, I can take it

Dornbirn is south of Bregenz on the way(ish) to Vaduz, Liechtenstein. For once Sir, you are not talking rubbish!

I wasn't sure if Meersburg was a town or a beer.
Easy to fall in love with either.

I recall driving through Liechtenstein but I also recall it was very brief. We drove across Austria the day after the Vienna gig. It was quite a hike. That was the year we did the Swiss triangle. We went to Locarno after Dornbirn. Swiss triangle? Cheese? Get it? Oh, never mind.

Don't worry, I can take it When Quo played the Austrian city Bregenz they probably played the venue right on the lake - great venue that. A small Southeastern part of the Bodensee belongs to Austria. And yep, Dornbirn is close by further to the south, though not on the banks of the lake, but it might still be visible from the mountains. Most of the South bank belongs to Switzerland and the rest, including the islands is German. Those islands are deemed the warmest regions of the country (even warmer than the Rhein plain) and actually hold some subtropical vegetation. And yep, plenty of Weißbier available in these parts of Austria and Germany .

Or is it only available in German speaking countries?

How do you get that 'double S' symbol on a keyboard? Or is it only available in German speaking countries? The "sharp S" in Word - type Alt, and while keeping it pressed, enter 0223 from the number pad. I don't like Weißbier, by the way. I'll remember that when it's my round Weißbier. Woo hoo. It works. Ta for that. Another string to my increasingly shabby bow.

You'll have to use the complicated way Inna has explained to you. We've got our own key for it (to the right of 0 - plus a few more things like French accents .. And z and y are exchanged. ss and ß are not the same though and not that long ago we had a spelling reform that changed some of the ß into ss and (I think ?) vice versa. I accept some of it - like daß to dass, but not all - like bißchen to bischen (or is it bisschen ?).
