Hi all I recently digitised my Partners In Crime vinyl album and I also have an In Concert performance from the BBC in ok but not great quality. As I was trawling around looking for a better copy (and didn't find one) I discovered that they replayed the session just under a year ago on 03 July 2016 at 03:00. Here's the link which has 30 second clips of all the songs and, as you will hear, they are in fantastic quality: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07jd5crUnfortunately the full concert is no longer available. Did anyone record this and, if so, would you be up for a trade? Or to supply? Cheers

I managed to convert my album to mp3 as well; not that long ago. I wasn't aware of the BBC In Concert so I never recorded it. The quality on the link is very good though. It does sound OH so 80's in places, especially the two singles Hollywood Dreams and Miracles. But it would be good to have the full concert, I must admit. Sorry, mate, if I had a copy you could have it. But thanks for the memories

Cheers, mortified. I think they are a really good band but with dated production (now) and possibly the wrong time.

And Spud dyed his hair blonde and went all soft focus. Mind you, didn't we all?

No, you're mixing them up with Diesel. From Allmusic "Ex-Status Quo drummer John Coghlan put this short-lived UK ‘supergroup’ together. Enlisting the services of Noel McCalla (vocals, ex-Moon), Mark de Vanchque (keyboards, ex-Wildfire), Ray Major (guitar, ex-Mott) and Mac Mcaffrey (bass), they specialized in Americanized melodic rock. Debuting with Organised Crime in 1985, it was obvious that this set of seasoned musicians gelled together well. Produced by John Eden (Status Quo) and James Guthrie (Pink Floyd, Queensrÿche) it was a strong album in many respects, yet failed to stand out from the numerous other acts offering similar material. The band sundered soon after the album was released." www.allmusic.com/artist/partners-in-crime-mn0000129885/biographyYou can find material on Youtube.

Noel McCalla went on to be the vocalist with Manfred Mann's Earth Band's and was with them when they supported Quo in 2008. I actually saw Moon, eh moons ago. They did a tour with Boxer and Crawler (with Paul Kossoff) called (I think) the Back On The Streets tour. You got a free single if you attended which I still have. Somewhere. Boxer's main claim to fame was the cover of their debut album; at least I think it was their debut. It had a naked Stephanie Marrian (Page 3 girl) spreadeagled with a boxing glove covering her modesty. I've never actually known any woman call it her modesty. When was the last time you heard a young lady say "I've got an itchy modesty"? Thought not. I really should go lie down for a bit. Been a long day.

Noel was/is a great vocalist. (Did I ever mention how much I love Manfred Mann's Earth Band? Unfortunately he left the band a few years ago.) But I haven't heard any of "Partners in Crime". With that live session added, it might be an interesting reissue for us in-the-know...

I once contacted Angel Air and suggested that they consider the solo albums from Francis, Rick and John's 2 bands (Diesel and Partners in Crime). I didn't expect they would get anywhere with the Rossi/Frost recordings or Rick's but I thought they might get something from John's career. They thanked me and that was the last I heard. I might have mentioned Alan but his post-Quo stuff is around though probably out of print by now.

I think the problem with the Rossi/Frost recordings is the same as with Rick's album - Universal have the rights and they are not going to license it out to some label. However I've read in GoodTimes magazine that the Diesel album might get released at some point.
