According to my husband, HMV are doing a release of Piledriver on blue vinyl at their stores on Saturday - a limited edition! Guess who's not going to be able to get to an HMV store as she's busy all day!!!

The HMV store in Edinburgh closed down last year These limited availability things are a ball ache. The gold vinyl 12 Gold Bars wasn't available at all in Scotland and neither was the recent presentation gift tin of Dog Of Two Head beer. Neither were available online. We're not even independent yet No doubt this Piledriver will pitch up on e-bay or some such at an inflated price. Is it record store day on Saturday? Just wondering what it's all about.

No, record store day was a couple of months ago. I've no idea why it's being sold in HMV this weekend. But I think it is exclusive to the stores.

I don't know the answer but it's limited to 1500. Father's Day?
ISOTFC is being re-released at the end of the month on orange vinyl too.

No HMV in Edinburgh? That's sad. The stores in Dundee, Glasgow and Aberdeen are still trading.

Managed to get one. By a very pleasant coincidence, we travelled down to Manchester on Saturday and I got one in HMV in the Trafford Centre. They were still being sold in there yesterday as well. They had a few 'exclusive' vinyls on sale including the Stones' Some Girls but when I looked in yesterday, Piledriver was outselling them all by the looks. They only had two left on the rack compared to dozens of everyone else's. It doesn't have the Vertigo 'swirl' label; it has the blue spaceship or jellyfish or whatever that was. But otherwise the sleeve is exactly the same except for the more up to date info in the small print on the back. I am happy.

A nice collectors item I thought (although a bit spicy at £21).

I was in Glasgow today and FOPP in Union Street had this album too.
Must be proving popular as there was a very sticker on it declaring "One per customer".
Still didn't buy one though!

....there was a very sticker on it declaring "One per customer". Yeah, I noticed that. So I got two. Picked one up for sis. I knew HMV wouldn't turn down a sale.

You should've tried 5 though (could've passed one on to Gary ) - two wasn't that much of a challenge Guess it'll soon be 129 million overall sales then

I thought I'd have a look. This blue vinyl version is now on offer on e-bay for between £35 and £40. That's about double the original price. Knew that would happen. People are SO predictable

They had a stock of 14 copies in HMV Leicester and are down to the last copy today.

Apparently, Piledriver has re-entered the UK vinyl album charts at no. 22! (see FTMO site) That's coz I bought two last week. That's enough to get you in the top 30 these days Seriously, that's quite impressive. Nice one.
