Despite everything, I think this is an achievement to be proud of.
Headline on the opening night?
I don't usually watch too much of Glastonbury but I shall watch this.
Just hope I'll avoid the dubious presenting skills of Mark Radcliffe and the breathless Jo Whiley.

I see its just been added to the official Quo website. Better later than never! I'm no fan of Jo Whiley either but I don't mind Mark Radcliffe to be honest. He amuses me. As for this gig, its a bit of a surprise to say the least. But good luck to them. This is serious exposure by their standards. Like Hyde Park last year I guess. Not that they need it but they seem to crave it. The Glastonbury line up is odd and very varied as usual. I can imagine going along to see Foo Fighters on the Saturday but having to stand through Kate Perry and Craig David first! I'm genuinely not sure I could! But there are some great acts overall that I would love to catch. An acoustic set by Andy Fairweather-Low and The Low Riders will be superb. As will KT Tunstall. But I haven't heard of anyone else on the bill that Quo are headlining. I also now see why Royal Blood and The XX were on Jools Holland last night. Nepotism at the BBC? Never.

Wow - seems they left an impression last time there and with the Roundhouse gig. Seeing that it's a summer festival with a non-Quo audience, I expect it to be more or less the same as the Hyde Park set. The Hyde Park crowd seemed to love it and I guess so will the audience at Glastonbury. As I'm not going I'm not bothered by who else plays it or who does the talking and Jo Whiley didn't come across too bad at the Roundhouse. Quo headlining that stage is what counts for this Quo fan. So they're playing Glastonbury and Wacken this summer .. not bad at all (Rick would've loved it). Why should they stop ? Maybe this summer is kind of a test as well - how it works, switching between acoustic and electric repeatedly ?

Great news !! And the band play on. Hopefully give them a huge lift and confidence booster. Also give the new line up some exposure which isn't a bad thing. I hope FR and the boys are on top form !
I wonder how well this goes down with the ' I've given up ' squad. Do tributes get to play here ?? Lol.

You beat me to it mortified Checking the Glastonbury homepage with its endless lists of venues and acts I can't help but feel this has become too big. They're obviously trying to offer something for every little niche group of fans and by doing so visitors are merely able to see a tiny fraction of what's on offer and have to cover huge distances. If I'd go there I'd probably be completely exhausted afterwards - and disappointed that I missed out on so many interesting things. Got to admit though, the sheer amount of names from acts I've never heard of had me stunned too. Who the **** comes up with all these ? Creating an efficient infrastructure (accommodation, food, toilettes, dry roads ..) for this must be a complete nightmare too .. The acoustic stage .. where's it situated ? Probably somewhere on the outskirts to avoid noise interference from the big electric stages.

I think the BBC's coverage has been really poor and it's turned out much as I expected it would be.
I downloaded the "first day highlights" and as has already been said, no Quo. Plenty of talk from the presenters though, they had time enough for that.
Even yesterday, there's three Red Button channels and they just seemed to be a continuous loop. Anytime I selected one, it was someone that I had already seen, invariably some girl in a spandex suit thing prancing about. No idea who she is but she's certainly been given plenty of coverage. Perhaps Francis should consider wearing one....
My only hope is that it may appear sometime next week after the festival has finished and the producers have sat down and gone through everything that's been recorded. Let's face it, Quo were never going to be their first pick, were they?
I'd really like to see this performance, especially as Leon has said on Twitter that the concert has gone into his Top Ten of Quo performances.

I read that there were no cameras at all on the acoustics stage and a few others besides.

Apart from Quo, I was looking to see Andy Fairweather-Low on the acoustic stage. Alas, it would appear there is no chance of that. Humph... Oh, and the spandex prancer was probably Kate Perry. Or Craig David who I saw but genuinely cannot stand. Just the antithesis of my 'thing'. Can't say there ain't a cross-section there though; but not on the BBC coverage. Not if Trevor Nelson's involved

I've got to say, I'm disappointed with BBC's coverage. I often think the only thing they are interested in covering is Wimbledon. Let's see how many cameras they have there?
I often think I've a broad taste in music but there was little for me to enjoy from what I've seen over the past three days.
Saw a bit of Barry Gibb's set and whilst one or two were OK, his voice is a bit too high pitched for me to enjoy.
Nile Rodgers? Couldn't stand Chic and I just don't like that/his type of music.
Ed Sheerin? From what I saw today, it's just not for me.
Glastonbury is taking a break in 2018 apparently. I'm not upset or disappointed to hear that.

Such a shame there were no cameras at the acoustic stage at all. Somehow I've got the feeling that this festival is too big now - completely blown out of proportion. In consequence coverage won't be representative of what really has been going on. So it'll merely show what's considered 'in' and 'cool' by some guys from the Beep. Obviously acoustic is not ..

Ed Sheerin isn't really for me either. Although there is no doubting his talent, it's all a bit samey when he's up there for 90 minutes just him and his acoustic guitar(s). There seems to be little change in dynamic until he bursts into the odd rap. I saw bits and pieces over the weekend and the highlight for me by far was The Pretenders' set. Chrissie still looks and sounds good. I caught Radiohead and some of The Jacksons, neither of which floated my boat. Foo Fighters were OK. Not as good as I've heard them before though. And Kris Kristofferson looked and sounded about 102. Mind you, he's always sounded 102 There seemed to be less coverage this year from other stages despite the fact it was on constantly over two channels (BBC 2 and BBC 4). They concentrated on the main pyramid stage and the other main one whose name escapes me. I'd like to have seen more acts from elsewhere, which they usually do to be fair. The bottom line, though, is that everyone who appeared, particularly late on, went down really well and proved to be very popular with young and old alike.

Nice clip of some Quo fans at Glasto on the NME page At least a bit of Quo can be heard in the background. Otherwise it's as if they never played there ..

Did the String section play at Glasto? Or have they dropped them altogether this year?
