Oh dear! Sounds like a scene from a Paul Newman film Ever listen to a band called Hustler back in the 70's? They only made two albums but both were great! I still listen to them now. Just saying. To my shame, I've never heard of a band called Hustler but I'll go and try and find something by them

I never saw them live although I did catch them one morning on a Saturday pop show broadcast from Newcastle. I can't remember what it was called though. I haven't heard hide nor hair of them since 1975. The two albums are quite different. Very 70's now I suppose but High Street is sort of Deep Purple (ish) but Play Loud was a Quo fans dream! Well, it was for me.

With the LNOTE tour continuing on 18th April in Estonia (have they ever played there before?) and on the (very) improbable chance that the set list will be changed - shouldn't the band be about to start rehearsals now ? Anybody seen or heard anything from the Quo camp -fb, twitter .. that would give us a hint ? Next stop will be Finland, then Norway, Sweden before moving further south to Denmark. Hope they bring thick gloves and the long underwear along, so they don't catch a bug - it'll still we wintry up north. Leon says he has finished rehearsals with SQ for their upcoming Scandinavian tour. He says they're sounding tight. Easter will be spent at home, and then it's over to Estonia for their first show on Monday. He says he's happy to be hitting the road again with some of his favourite people... Richie says he's all ready to rock and also thinks the band is sounding tight. Source: FTMO site Tightness these days seems more important than content. Just an observation. Must be an age thing

Indeed, tonight's the first gig and I'm sure there'll be feedback on fb. I admit I'm dreading the set ..

That's pretty much the set from the winter tour - which this is a continuation of - so I imagine its genuine.

I'm not sure if this is a joke or to be taken seriously: www.setlist.fm/setlist/status-quo/2017/nordea-hall-tallinn-estonia-73e63ad1.html Edit: I've just read through a fan's review of yesterday's gig on the FTMO site. Rhino singing Creepin' Up. "...send you pretty flowers...", and somebody throwing flowers onto the stage. I don't know what to say, really. I've got a lump in my throat. That's why I've been dreading it .. Why can't they just for once surprise us positively and do the unexpected, just for once .. ? (rhetorical question, I'm aware the answer doesn't exist)

To be charitable, it is the continuation of TLNOTE, so why would they change it?
On the other hand, I think it's money for old rope.
Don't they ever get fed up playing the same static set, tour after tour after tour? (that's also a rhetorical question).

So they did NOT do my setlist from the beginning of this thread....
Well,who would have guessed ?
I must be thick as ,cos I don't get this setlist discussion anymore.
Some say they MUST do certain songs (hits) like WYW,Army,RAOTW and pointless medleys... cos that's what the crowd/fans wants...
...and it's here that you lost me...I've been a fan since ca 1972-73 and have followed them through ups and downs and buying all records,DVD:s and stuff and been going to some (not many) live shows.
BUT....I do NOT want to pay hard earned cash to see/hear those songs mentioned above live NEVER again cos I've already heard them 5000 times....
SO...Now the big thing that I don't get....Who are these people that pay hard earned cash and want to hear those songs for the 5001st time??
I consider myself as a VERY 'true' and dedicated fan,but are they MORE of a fan than me or am I just thick as ,cos I don't want the same setlist year after year after year after year after year....
I would save money for half a year to get that set I mentioned in the beginning...just saying.

@durango95 And no, I don't get and I don't need this discussion anymore either. I've come to the conclusion that I don't want to see the current line-up again. They still rock, they're still great, no doubt about it, but it's just not for me anymore. I'm really sad about it all, but I can't help it. It is what it is. Great post Inna, and you are probably spot on. Now that you say it,I remember some (younger) friends of mine that got in to Quo in -86 with the Army album, and I especially remember some girls that just went bananas when the song 'Dreamin' was played.... ...and then I played 'Backwater' to them and they just... .They just didn't get it...
It's a friggin strange world we live in,but I'm glad I was around when Quo made the Piledriver album....

Bit like my missus who thinks stuff like Backwater and Paper Plane are just "Loud noise". While she loves tracks like Sherri Don't Fail Me and Young Pretender.

I am not going, even they are coming to my hometown Stockholm tomorrow Sunday.. But the ticket price is way too high 690 SEK and up to 850, that's crazy.. I also watched some of the Partille videos uploaded tonight, not a big crowd there, sadly... Much better last year, outside at Gröna Lund, and the year before that in Liseberg.

That's around 70€, a lot more than say 10 years ago, but on the other hand still a lot cheaper than the acoustic ticket in autumn (138.50€ !) - or many other bands .. It's not the ticket price that's the most important for me though, it's the set. I'd willingly pay (and travel) for something new and fresh, but not this again, not even if tickets were really cheap ..

It's not the ticket prices, it's not the setlist - to me it's the current state of affairs... Sorry, can't help it. May I ask what you mean using that expression ? I can fully understand that after the finality of Rick's death you've lost interest, but 'current state of affairs' implies you don't like something that's going on currently, something that could be done differently/better (beside the set list) ?

That's the thing, @inna - is there nothing that can be done about it ? Rick's gone and won't be back ever and nothing can be done about that. But everything else ? That's mainly by choice now I suppose. They will have contractual obligations for most of the summer festivals and the acoustic tour had been booked a year in advance at least, but the prolonged LNOTE tour is by wish of promoters, so by choice.
The rest of the band obviously isn't prepared to say no to more bookings at the moment for whatever reasons. Maybe they're trying to find out what they want now, how it feels, if they can still enjoy going up on that stage or not. These decisions take time and aren't ones to be made in a hurry. The how could've been handled differently in many ways, but again, maybe they, mainly Francis simply wants to avoid thinking about Rick too much and tries to stick to his routines including his music as much as possible. People cope with losses in different ways ..
There's the commercial aspect too. Only by going out and playing gigs they'll find out how many of their fans they've lost with Rick, whether it's even financially viable to continue if they come to the decision they want to go on - and how many keep returning for the 'amazing music'.
IMO they'll find they have lost a noticeable part of their audience. The ironic thing is, that it'll be down to the set as much as the loss of Rick - and I doubt they'll realise that. What I've noticed though is, that complaints about the set have become massive again everywhere and not just from us few, who post on mbs.
Just a few days ago I've been to the Schloßpark Schwetzingen again. It's so stunningly beautiful and I'd be there in a flash for the August gig - if it weren't for the set .. Incidentally the night after I had Rick appearing in a dream, for the first time ever. It was just some weird quickly forgotten story, but the last pictures will stay with me for a while: He suddenly was lifted up by a storm into a sky that was growing blacker and blacker with threatening looking clouds and there he drifted away fast, like a doll with broken limbs ..
What was it this was about .. ?
